Worn out after only 24,000 miles

Tires came on our 2014 Subaru Outback 3.6L when purchased new. My wife just took the car in to the dealer for an oil change and tire rotation and the service advisor told her that they would not rotate the tires because they need to be replaced...after only 24,000 miles. This is my wife's car and she babies it and always takes it to the dealership for scheduled maintenance and tire rotations.

Terrible Tread life

These came on our brand new 2014 Subaru Outback and we have just been told by the service techs that all 4 tires need to be replaced... at 32,000 miles. We have never driven this on any extreme terrain. Hoping Continental comes through on their tread life warranty because we essentially got half the life out of a tire rated for much more.

Disappointing tread life

These were the factory tires on my 2014 Subaru Outback 2.5i premium. After only 45,000, I have been told that I need to replace the tires. I have had them rotated with every scheduled maintenance on my vehicle, as suggested by my dealer. I am very disappointed that after only 2 years of owning my car, I have to replace a tire that should have made it another year or two.

UGGHHH!!! Had to replace at only 24,700 miles

I have had too many new cars to count and have driven too many miles to say. I take excellent care of my autos, which includes regular tire rotation and checking the air pressure frequently. These tires were original to my 2014 Subaru Outback 3.6. I have never had a car where the new tires only lasted 24,700 miles. My kids have Hyundais and they have over 50,000 miles on their Kumho Solus KL21 tires. I rec'd no help from Subaru nor Continental Customer Service. I was told by Continental they only warranty replacement tires. The warranty on the same tire I paid for with my new car gets a 6 yr/65,000 mile waranty if purchased as a replacement. Does that make sense to anyone? Something is fishy. Are the tires substandard that are put on new cars - either specified by the auto manufacturer or deliberately provided this way by the tire manufacturer?

Thank you for taking the time to review our tires. Although mileage is excluded from the new vehicle tire warranty, if the tires are evenly worn down to 2/32" of tread remaining, with proof of rotation every 6,000, we may be able to assist you. Just have your dealer contact our office at 800-847-3349 for assistance.

Good Value

I have a 2010 Subaru 2.5 Outback with 160,000 miles. Original equip Continentals lasted 90K miles. The ProContact GX now have 70K miles and need replacement. I was expecting more mileage but am satisfied with the 70K. I will replace with another set of Continentals.

Poor Treadware

Had to replace 2 of the original Continentals at 26,200 miles on my 2014 Subaru Outback 2.5i Premium. Now, 26,500 miles later, they need replacement again. Rotated every 5,00 - 7,000 miles. Tread depth was measured a week ago at 4/64". Good tire otherwise. Looking for another brand of tire!

Thank you for providing feedback regarding our tires. If the tires are evenly worn down to 2/32" of tread remaining, with proof of rotation every 6,000 - 8,000 miles, and these are replacement tires, then the tires are eligible for pro rata replacement Should you or the dealer need assistance, we can be reached Monday - Friday, 8:30 AM - 5:30 PM Eastern, at 800-847-3349.

First, they told me that my shipment was delayed then they canceled my shipment. In the meantime, I'm driving around with a flat tire! If they can't find the tire right away, then they should let you know not wait around to tell you.

Vibration

My 2017 c coupe 300. Has very pronounced vibration. The Mercedes dealership said that it's a summer tire. And will have that vibration till the weather warms up.

The ProContact GX is an all season performance tire; however, some of the information provided by the dealer is correct. If you are feeling a vibration at the start of the day that diminishes as you drive, this is flat spotting. This can happen to any tire at any time, due to a vehicle sitting for a prolonged period of time. In the winter and early spring, cold overnight temperatures will stiffen the tires, increasing their tendency to develop temporary flat spot.

Average

These tires are good enough for being factory tires but I'm disappointed that after 36000 miles I'm having to buy a new set. I'll definitely go with something higher quality and with a warranty next time.
