I bought this as a Christmas gift for my father to ease disposal of a HUGE volume of dead leaves produced by pecan trees. He hasn't been able to us it yet because the cord on the shredder has a unique plug that requires a specialty extension cord to use. I am disappointed that neither the product description nor the reviews on Walmart or Amazon make note of this fact.

I'm so pleased with my Sun Joe shredder. I've used it on both leaves and pine needles. I was a bit concerned after reading some reviews about how much the shredded material would condense so I conducted my own before and after experiments. See my photos as proof. I will say I need to remember to give it a break periodically as I did manage to overheat the motor on my first try.

I live in a community that is built in the woods so needless to say we have leaves. Boy do we have leaves. I have bagged them, mulched them with mulching lawnmower and the leaves always win. Finally bought the Sun Joe Electric Mulcher/shredder and I'm now winning. Very easy to operate; very easy to replace plastic mulching strips and breaks the leaves down to great mulch.

This shredder did exactly as advertised. I shredded well over a hundred gallons of dried leaves into three garbage bags. Perfect material for my garden and flower beds. I didn't give 5 stars because of the legs. The screw clamp on the legs would not hold no matter how tight I was able to tighten them. I eventually installed three hosepipe clamps (one on each leg) and that solved the problem.

I purchased this product because my house is surrounded by trees. It's easy to use and the product description is exact... So far I've done wet and dry leaves with ease. I also used a bag and it held the 55 gallon bag with no problems. Now I can't wait for the leaves to fall.. I am so totally satisfied.

Don't waste your money. You spend more time replacing the plastic string than you do mulching leaves.

If I had to rate this I would give it an 8 out of 10 only because the bag straps are useless and it kept collapsing on me no matter how tight I turn the legs. I think a solid strap would work better rather than one in several areas.

The Leaf Mulcher worked great for the first couple of times but then it quit and would not turn on. Not sure what happened but other people have had the same problem. Certainly was happy with it before it broke within the first month of use.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I am never buying mulch again. We are always trying to find ways to use what we have and this is a great tool for creating mulch from the numerous piles of leaves we have every year. We use the mulch in our gate den to keep the weeds down and loosen the soil. It's basically an inverted weed wacker with a big tub to drop the leaves into. It has rubber around the edge to keep your hands clear and a nice size tub for dropping leaves into. It blows through leaves pretty quickly to make fast work of a pile of leaves. I was given this item to test and it's so worth it. All my neighbors keep asking to borrow it over and over again.

Fantastic...mulched two huge maple trees in 3 bags, put it right back into my soil and already have earthworms working it the same month. You will need more line as they do wear out, especially if you are mulching some sticks and stuff, but the line is inexpensive.
