Great for cyclists who already own a head unit

Coming from a Fenix 5S and a D2 Air X10. I also use an Edge 830 on my bike. This watch gives me almost all the info I want or need as far as my fitness. Combined with my 830, Garmin Connect gives me a pretty good picture of my health. The watch itself is similar to the D2 Air X10, but doesn't seem as polished. Considering it's $100USD less than the D2, I can see where they had to cut some corners on the finish. Having worn my Fenix 5S for many years (since 2019), I was ready for a more stylish watch. This definitely fits my criteria. The additional feedback on my rest and stress graphs give me a good idea of my diet. The sleep coach can be patronizing and/or unrealistic sometimes, but it can help. It helps me keep track of what my body is doing off the bike.

Solid as a Timepeice, Needs TLC for the rest

I primarily bought this for the Garmin reliability and the ECG option. As a timepeice and activity tracker, it is solid. The ECG is picky with wrist/forearm placement/pressure. I have about an 80% success rate. The watch vibration has been "audible" since day one and people in meetings will ask me "Is that your watch??!!" I've contacted support a few times and they have been less than helpful and do not followup. I've also noticed that features disappear and even full resets can't bring them back. The ability to take calls on my watch disappeared, music doesn't play anymore, but the Starbucks app works and Scouts can find my watch if it give them the GPS coordinates.

Perfect for all types of users

Having been a long time Fitbit user, I became frustrated with the lack of accuracy of my Versa 3 and the software and lack of support was increasingly frustrating. Having owned an Edge Explore I knew already the great Garmin potential so it took just a few minutes thought to move to the Venu 3 and drop the Fitbit in the bottom drawer. The quality of “free” reporting and the integration across devices and platforms as well as with Komoot is amazing. I committed to a personal fitness change with this purchase and the smartwatch has helped me every step of the way. Thanks Garmin

Amazing technology in this

It can do so many things. I printed out the user's manual. It was 40 pages..printed on both sides. As time goes on I am finding my way around the watch. I track my heart rate when I work out, my sleep cycles, I tried the EEG function, I like the fact I can change the watch face. Need to find one that has military time. I like how it connects to my phone and vibrates when I get an email or a txt. Still lots to learn about it and you keep adding new functions.

Solid upgrade, but lack of software upgrades

No matter how good Garmin watches are on release, the fact that they don't get feature upgrades will always hold them back. Most every platform improves the experience of their devices throughout their lifespan -- except Garmin. Although they do release some (presumably) bug fixes -- I never saw a changelog. I noticed one weird inconsistency on my Venu 1 that never got fixed. Otherwise, a solid improvement over my Venu, although a more modern design would be appreciated.

So much potential, but not realized.

Good: The display is clear and bright. The setup was relatively easy. Poor: The only good watch faces are from 3rd party apps who want all sorts of access to my watch which in turn has access to all sorts of things from my phone ... Security issue. The watch doesn't automatically change from one time zone to another leading to missing appointments. The sleep data is way off ... someone is just guessing. The phone app does menu options you don't have on the watch and the watch has some menu options you don't have on the app. They should match. The screen-on-when-you-gesture only works about 75% of the time. The 3 buttons on the side are completely unintuitive .. which is "in" which is "out" which is "next" ... complete guess situation by situation.

I love the Venu 3!

My niece purchased the Fenix solar watch and my sister bought the Venu 3. I waited a few months to justify swapping my Samsung Galaxy Watch because it was working fine - other than the terrible battery life. I also did like the solar feature of some Garmin watches, but with my recent diagnosis of skin cancer, I figured it best to not spend more time out in the Florida sun and risk that issue! So, the Venu 3 was my choice. I am so glad that I bought the Venu 3! This watch has a larger face and therefore, a larger battery and longer battery life. I am on an insulin pump with closed-loop system to my Dexcom Glucose monitor. I want to see my glucose reading on my watch so that I am not constantly looking for my phone every 30 minutes or hour. The watch has limited faces and add-ons for glucose readings, which is sad. But, for the ones I can use, such as the IQ Store Face It feature, the watch is perfect for me! I can change the watch face to display my steps, stress level, glucose reading, battery level, and even display my company logo that I created! It makes the personalization of my Venu 3 more fun. While these features that I prefer are nowhere near the amount of apps, widgets, and other features available, these are the ones most important to me in my life. I believe that anyone can find the perfect watch face using Face It or the many other options from the IQ Store! I did change the watch band to one that tucks into itself. I find the watch lightweight and sleep with it every night. I do charge the watch while I get ready every morning, but honestly would not need to keep charging the battery because it drains about 10-12 percent in a day. The reason for this drain is the CGM glucose reading that is constantly running in the background. I still think this is MUCH better than my Samsung Galaxy watch that would leave me with about 30% battery life by the time bedtime rolls around, so I could not even wear that thing to sleep. The Venu 3 is GREAT!

Great watch! But…

Love the Watch, battery time is great and a lot of great features. I just wish it had more sports in the list of activities, I play handball and would love to just press ”handball” in activities when I have training, rather then having to manually add it after every workout

Great features. A couple issues.

I bought the Venu 3 on sale to replace my 5 year old Garmin. While it's neat that it can do a few more things, the activities remain the same as before. My main problem is how scratched the screen is already. I've bought a screen protector for it, but I never had to with my last one. I'm almost embarrassed that it looks so old so soon.

What an awesome smart watch !

I have had two Fitbit smart watches and the sensors on the bottom fell off and they just did not have the features that the Garmin has. What an incredible smart watch and my spouse has an Apple smart watch and there is absolutely no comparison between the other two brands. This smart watch is awesome!
