Great watch

I researched smart watches for a few weeks and decided to first try the apple watch. Used it for 2 weeks and returned it to get thie Garmin Venu 3. Garmin is better hands down. Better displays, still very easy to use, tracks more, and the battery life is 5x better than the apple watch.

Amazing!

My Venu 3 was a replacement for an Apple Watch, and I couldn’t be happier. The Apple Watch did a lot, but not much well. My Venu 3 does so much right! I’m really loving the level of detail with fitness metrics. I now have access to more data than I know what to do with. The battery life is stellar, at least 10 days with my configuration, which is a huge improvement. I used to charge my Apple Watch overnight, so I never could see my sleep patterns. Not with my Venu 3! I should also note that the Venu 3 charges so quickly. An hour or two and it jumps from 10 to 100%. Overall a great purchase. I’m glad I switched to Garmin!

Love this watch

Love that I don't have to charge it every other day like other watches by companies that make smart phones. Lasts me about 9 days depending on activity. I run about 13 miles a week and really rely on it tracking by VO2 Max, heart rate (I'm 62 so have to monitor this), fitness age and more. I ended up getting the Garmin blood pressure cuff and scale. Now my watch, scale and BP monitor all report to my Garmin connect for a nice wellness summary. Had my annual physical and my doctor was quite impressed. The Garmin tools to track fitness are just what I needed.

Nice features, good statistics.

I owned a Fitbit before and are very happy a switched for a Garmin. It takes a little, after 3 years Fitbit, to find my way around in the menus, but it’s ok now. Statistics for heartbeats, HRV, stress and body battery are great and better then Fitbit in my opinion. Also some activities are there now that I missed in the past. I did not check the golf app but looks promising. I still are discovering new nice features. I would by a Garmin again. Best: no monthly charge for all features.

Great watch - not very intuitive to use

After owning several versions of another brand of fitness/smartwatch and finding the accuracy and features lacking, I settled on the Venu 3 after much research. There is a bit of a learning curve to overcome - there are A LOT of features and sorting out which ones are important to you can take some time. The main ones I use are the EKG App, Steps, Heart Rate and Pulse Ox. The step count is much more accurate than my previous watch. At a recent doctors appointment I compared the Venu 3 readings to actual medical devices. Heart Rate was within a beat or two of being spot on, Pulse Ox was off by about 10 points - the finger monitor reading was 98% and the Venu 3 was 88%. My doctor was interested in the comparisons so we did this several times and the Venu 3 was consistently low. The big surprise for me was the EKG App - comparing the EKG readings from the Venu 3 and what was taken in the office showed almost identical readings. I was not expecting this level of accuracy. The Garmin messaging feature is cumbersome and not intuitive so I don't use it. Getting texts and call notifications from my iPhone works very well most of the time. There have been several times I have gotten a text but it didn't show up on my watch. Not a big deal to me, but if you're counting on 100% notifications, it may not happen. There are more apps and features on this watch than most people will likely use. That being said, it is very customizable to whatever data set you're looking to track. The downside is it is not very intuitive and getting things set up takes awhile and a measure of patience. If you very tech oriented this may not be the watch for you. The silicone band is secure, but gets uncomfortable after a long day, it doesn't breathe so sweat and moisture tend to collect. I haven't researched alternative bands yet, but I likely will. There are hundreds of alternative watch faces available to add, many free, some are not. It is very easy to overload the watch face with so much data it is near impossible to read. I have tried several different faces and gone back to the default every time. For my needs I am so far happy with the Venu3 despite some of its drawback.

Awesome design and features

I got this watch for xmas and I am very happy with it. I like the different apps that can be added and mostly the fact that I can use GPS without having to buy data from a wireless mobile provider. I am still learning about the watch and look forward to take full advantage of every feature.

Great Garmin watch

I've had the Fenix, Epix and now the Venu3. What I love about the Venu is the simplicity of the screens. The great image it has and the variety of apps. Easy to use and really customizable with the Garmin connect app. What I wish it was a little dressier. The watch looks and feels a little plasticky despite the metal bezel. Which allows for an EEG which I really like. I'd pay slightly more for this watch if it looked nicer. Also I'd like the side buttons to be a little more substantial, not plastic. The bottom button is not as responsive as it should be. Overall it's know my go to Garmin watch as it has a nice small profile vs. the Epic and Fenix

Venu 3

I bought this watch to replace my Venu 2 as the battery died. The GPS did not work so the sent me a refurbished watch (not a new one) and the refurbished watch does not have a functioning GPS either. In short, don’t waste your money on this watch as the basic functions don’t work.

Awesome watch

I wore out my first Garmin so I reached out to them for a suggestion on a replacement. I got the most helpful rep who made suggestions based on my need. I bought the Venu 3 and I couldn’t be happier. It is an amazing watch with TONS of features. Unlike the Apple Watches I read about, the Venu battery lasts for weeks before a charge is needed. I couldn’t recommend this watch more.

Definite Step Up from FitBit!

I switched from FitBit to Garmin because the FitBit features were lacking. I decided to go with Garmin instead of Apple because the Venu 3 has 7-10 day battery life where the Apple watch has at most 36 Hours. I do not want to have to charge it everyday. Since wearing the Garmin Venu 3 for about a month now, I am loving all the data that I get from the app. I also love how comfortable the watch is, the customization of the watch face and being able to do challenges with my husband!
