A very complete and elegant watch
I changed my Venu to the Venu 3 and it was worth it. It has very useful new features such as recovery timer, morning report, and sleep enhancements. The only negative point is that the battery does not last even close to 12 days with a normal use.
Life Changer!
I bought this Garmin Venu 3 to replace my Apple Watch because I wanted more health tracking features than what the Apple Watch could offer. WOW am I so glad I made the switch. I had my Apple Watch for 5 years and I thought I would never part with it, but I am so glad I did. The Garmin Venu 3 has far exceeded my expectations. Here are my reviews of various features: Battery Life The battery life on this watch is incredible. I can go a full week without charging, including multiple workouts per day, wearing it to sleep, etc. HUGE perk right there. Health Tracking There are so many health tracking features on this watch, including EKG, SpO2, HRV. If you are looking to have a better grasp on health features, this watch checks many boxes. Large Screen My eyes need all the help they can get, so this large screen is really helpful. Fitness Tracking As a very active person (4 strength training days per week, 3 runs per week, and pick-up pickleball 3-5 times per week), I love having a watch that will track my progress. This watch does a great job! It also provides personalized training features based on your fitness goals! Cannot say enough great things about this watch :)
Venu 3
Primarily purchased this for heart rate feature. Also purchased the HRM Pro Plus Strap as I wanted the best accuracy during exercise and ability to sync the watch with a strap was important. So far, one or both are a bit below my expectations as at times there are discrepancies between the strap and the watch. High/Low Heart Rate Alerts don't seem to work. In walking, the accuracy of the steps/miles is way off showing under 4 miles when I have walked 5. Have tried to adjust stride length but apparently has no effect. Strap easily syncs with stationary bike at the gym but watch app does not show distance or speed for this activity. I did download a watch face from the IQ app as the stock watch faces all have small icons/font size for heart rate and hard to see at a quick glance. Watch itself is a bit large, 43 mm would likely be a better size. Have reached out to Support a few times with questions and they have been helpful.
We are sorry to hear about the issue that you are having with the heart rate readings, and we would ask that you reach out to our team again so that we can get the details from you and offer further assistance. Great Product
My husband and I both purchased the Venu 3 a few weeks ago and we are both very happy with them. I got the larger size and quite happy I did. It is a big face on my small wrist but worth it to see more words on the screen. I upgraded from the Vivoactive 3 and not looking back.
Great watch
I wear the watch for 4 weeks. I must say the watch is incredible! The sensors are really accurate. Is compared them with an independent system with a chest band and the test proved the accuracy of the watch. It took some time to understand the menu structure of the watch, but after 4 weeks I'm able to find the most things without tlhelp.
Excellent Watch
This watch is amazing the accuracy and detail from sleep coach and walking tracking, the apps that you can link such as golf it's like 2 watches in 1. Battery is decent about 1 week on regular operation however 14 if you change to smart watch status. Wish it was 14 on regular operation
Is Venu3/3S Worth the Extra Cost Vs Vivoactive 5?
Needed a new Garmin watch and narrowed down choices to Venu3 and Vivoactive 5. These watches are very similar in terms of offered functionality and I answered the question for myself, "Do the additional features of the Venu3 justify the increased cost?" Below are the differences: 1. Garmin Elevate 5 versus Garmin Elevate 4 2. Steel bezel versus aluminum bezel 3. Microphone and speaker for bluetooth and voice assistant support 4. Barometric altimeter sensor - measures floors climbed and ascent/descent metrics for sport related activities (for me running and cycling). 5. Gyroscope 6. Smart Trainer control (haven't used it yet) 7. More activity profiles (don't need them but you might) 8. Cycling - ability to sync power meters 9. Jet lag advisor (don't really travel far enough for this to be a factor) Are these features worth the additional cost? That depends on your needs. For me, the biggest feature is the Elevate5 sensor and steel bezel. My previous watch was a 9 year old Forerunner 645. Current watch has most of the health related features plus additional features I thoroughly enjoy such as 'Body Battery' , 'HRV status' , 'Recovery' , 'Intensity Minutes' , the AMOLED screen is a huge improvement and battery life thusfar lasts 7 days (screensaver is turned on). In the 3 weeks I've owned the watch, no negatives only positives. Whether you purchase the Venu3 or Vivoactive5, either will be an excellent watch for years to come, which has been my experience with 11 years use of Garmin wristwatches.
This watch is loaded (could use more apps)
I lost my Fenix and needed a replacement, so I looked back at Garmin. I didn't need the tactical stuff anymore, however I do like my creature comforts and started needing more health related diagnostic tools. This watch has been amazing for that. Having the speaker on it is awesome for answering calls from the watch. I also got the BP cuff and between the two, there is not a vital I can't collect... except for temp (which I think is an odd feature to leave out.) Also, I would like to see a "my fitness pal" widget and a larger variety of apps. This is a 5 star watch that, unfortunately, lacks some of the basic functionality of most smart watches. If you want an all around amazing health monitor and fitness watch with limited smart features, this is it.
Go to watch for sports!
I own a Garmin Venu 3, Fenix 6X Pro and Samsung Galaxy Watch. Ever since buying the Venu 3, I haven't touched my Samsung watch. The battery life is better than all others. My wife has an Apple watch and I just bought her a Venu 3s because the battery on her Apple watch wouldn't last a day. Now her Venu 3S lasts a week or longer. I had a Forerunner 165 but returned it for the Venu 3 because I wanted a larger screen and the ability to use it to talk on my phone via Bluetooth. The Venu 3 display is awesome too. Bottom line - if you're loooking for a smart watch that handles serious activities, go with a Garmin!! The real hard part is picking the right Garmin watch for your specific needs!!
Excellent smartwatch
I'm a long time Garmin fitness tracker / smart watch user, the Venu3 is my 4th Garmin. This is by far the best. The screen is bright and easy to use. The fitness tracking is easy to use and very effective. Integration with my iphone is great. I love that this watch has a speaker. Battery life is amazing.
