Good and Bad

I have had six prior Garmin watches, the last being a Vivoactive 4. The Venu 3 display is very bright in most cases and the ECG function is a good addition. The battery life is much better than the Vivoactive. The golf tracking is not good, yardage does not update. The lap swimming function has several problems vs the Vivoactive. Selecting the activity does not stay on unless you immediately start it. When a lap is paused a message comes up telling you how to use the button, instead of providing stats. The display is also harder to read in the water, but this may be due to goggles.

Great technology with a bit of a backword look...

Very happy so far. Made me focus on my walks and stair climbs :) which I didnt care before this watch as I am a cyclist. Would have preferred a squarish look on the watch (3 SQ not out yet). Looking forward to other detections such as sleep apnea and ECC in the EU zone. More details for cyclists and runners will be appreciated so that we dont have to keep up with two different Garmin watches... Thanks

If you need that strong battery life!

I use my watch 24/7 for sleep, heart, blood oxygen, hydration reminders, sleep coach, even to track my steps daily. It helps me be aware of my health and how much water/sleep I need during the day. The battery life for me was 4-5 days without the display being on. I switched from Apple Watch Series 8 to Garmin Venu 3. I don’t regret it. I don’t care if I don’t need the keyboard to reply to social media apps anymore. I just care about a watch focus on my health.

first smartwatch

Got it for Christmas. So far so good and still learning all these functions that the watch have. One thing i think is not as accurate is the heart rate monitor. Reason i said this is because i know my heart is racing after doing a few pushup, but monitor is not reflecting it. Did not get a chance to utilized the GPS function yet. Definitely good battery life. Looks good. Still learning and alot of function i have yet to use.

Great Watch

I upgraded to the Venu watch from a Vivo active 3 and love it! It tracks everything I need and the battery last quite a while as well. I can usually get 3 to 4 days out of it up hunting before needing to charge it. Definitely probably recommend this for beginner or intermediate runners. Has a ton of choices to pick from for activities to track. Very satisfied with this purchase as I have had it for around a year now.

Great smart watch

This watch is great. I have a pace maker in my heart, and this watch allows me to track my ecg, pulse, and blood oxygen. It also gives me a sleep score and recommendations. I'm a swimmer, and it will track laps. It does so much more, but the best part is the battery life; I have charged it twice since I got the watch, and the charge lasts a week. It completely syncs to my android phone, unlike some other smart watches.

excellent w a few exceptions

Upgraded from a Venu 2, really enjoy having a speaker, mic and the ecg app in this one, plus the battery life seems a little better too. It seems to work smoother, however I haven't been able to find out how to create a text without replying to one sent. Also love the workout benefit analysis that I've only been able to find on this and the Edge 130 plus. One other issue I have noticed is, even though it seems to be connected to my phone, I often have to find my phone again to make a call using it. Oh and I find the charging port easily disconnects from the charging cable, if I plug it in and set it down, it often disconnects a little too easily which is somewhat annoying.

ALL OVER THE MAP

I find the Garmin Venue 3 watch sleep data to be all over the map. Same with another device not worn on my wrist. I know when I turn in for the night. And all too often both devices have me going to bed hours later...hours...later. Batteries are adequately charged. And both devices are snug against my skin. Also, on a daily basis, the Venu 3 reports a total daily burn of 1920± calories while the other devices reports well over 2500±. HR is accurate against the Polar chest strap. So that's good. But I have endured chronic sleep deprivation for nearly 5 years: I'm 72 years old. Since I've stopped evaluating my body on a daily basis with a plethora of data, my sleep has greatly improved. As my very wise physician/acupunturist said to me, "When you get up, just feel your body. How do you feel?" Smart watches and rings are amazing techno-creatures. But given that the modern human brain is what?...200,000 years in the making, I think it has its own ways of talking to me whenever necessary. All I have to do is be quiet and listen. So off with the watches. So away with these techno-creatures: hello body. Talk to me, please. — Doug

Fits the bill for my needs

I needed something that would track criteria in the gym the same way my Apple Watch did but with a much better battery. This watch is more user friendly than the Fenix 5 I had because of the touchscreen features. If I could have afforded the Fenix 8 I would have went that route. The only thing missing is the ability to respond to texts on Apple which I was under the impression it would. The heart sensor was better on my Fenix 5 because I didn’t need a bottlecap sticker to read through my tattoos. The Venu 3 will read but the watch has to be tight and not move which doesn’t work for me.

A really great watch.

I wore the Garmin Vivoactive 3 for many years and decided to upgrade. I chose the Venu 3 and I am so glad I did. This watch is packed with fitness and health data. I love the sleep information I get every morning. I could go on and on. I seem to discover something new every day. If you want to improve your exercise and fitness programs get this watch.
