Upgrade from previous smartwatch

I bought this Venu3 3 weeks ago to replace my previous (other brand) smartwatch, and am very happy with this choice. All the measurements seem to be more accurate. I am getting 5-6 days of battery use, with about an hour and a half of GPS every day. The display is easier to see, and much easier to activate. The watch is more comfortable to wear, too. It took me 2-3 days to get used to Garmin's modes of operation (might have been faster if I had read the instructions), but they are logical and intuitive once I unlearned the previous device's methods.

Best smartwatch I've ever owned!

I've owned the Venu 3 for about a month and I am so pleased with it! As someone who has owned a smartwatch since the beginning of the technology came out, this is by far my favorite one! My biggest complaint with smartwatches is that most companies try to make it something that could one day replace your phone. I believe most owners are like myself and just want something that is a great companion piece to technology we already own. The Venu 3 does just that. The health metrics are fantastic and have helped me make more informed decisions regarding my overall health. The notifications for things like messages and other apps on my phone are subtle and helpful. This is my first foray into the Garmin smartwatch world and I am now a customer for life!

Great battery life!

As a former Apple Watch lover, I’m absolutely loving the features of the Garmin Venu 3. Especially the battery life. I can easily go 3 to 4 days and then charge for 10 to 15 minutes and good to go for another 3 to 4 days. I could barely get a full day charge with my Apple Watch. I also love the details on walking trails and the health stats the watch supplies!! I would have given a 5, but felt the learning curve was a little slow for me, but overall I love the watch!!

good battery life

The amoled display works well outdoors and almost everything runs right out of the box. Most options are available on the watch itself without having to open the app. Navigating the watch works surprisingly well thanks to the big touch display. However I find Garmin's Connect App confusing and crowded. Changing or just finding settings and especially customizing or correcting things is quite tedious. Especially gym workouts are annoying to track.

great fitness/sleep tracker/smart watch

I had an Apple Watch and it was getting older and I was tired of always charging it twice a day. This looked great and I thought I would try it out based on the fitness and the smart features. This watch is excellent and lasts a long time .I like to track my sleep and fitness and it does that Wonderfull and in some ways better than Apple Watch like body battery. I am enjoying not charging this for several days at a time.

I love the Venu 3!

My niece purchased the Fenix solar watch and my sister bought the Venu 3. I waited a few months to justify swapping my Samsung Galaxy Watch because it was working fine - other than the terrible battery life. I also did like the solar feature of some Garmin watches, but with my recent diagnosis of skin cancer, I figured it best to not spend more time out in the Florida sun and risk that issue! So, the Venu 3 was my choice. I am so glad that I bought the Venu 3! This watch has a larger face and therefore, a larger battery and longer battery life. I am on an insulin pump with closed-loop system to my Dexcom Glucose monitor. I want to see my glucose reading on my watch so that I am not constantly looking for my phone every 30 minutes or hour. The watch has limited faces and add-ons for glucose readings, which is sad. But, for the ones I can use, such as the IQ Store Face It feature, the watch is perfect for me! I can change the watch face to display my steps, stress level, glucose reading, battery level, and even display my company logo that I created! It makes the personalization of my Venu 3 more fun. While these features that I prefer are nowhere near the amount of apps, widgets, and other features available, these are the ones most important to me in my life. I believe that anyone can find the perfect watch face using Face It or the many other options from the IQ Store! I did change the watch band to one that tucks into itself. I find the watch lightweight and sleep with it every night. I do charge the watch while I get ready every morning, but honestly would not need to keep charging the battery because it drains about 10-12 percent in a day. The reason for this drain is the CGM glucose reading that is constantly running in the background. I still think this is MUCH better than my Samsung Galaxy watch that would leave me with about 30% battery life by the time bedtime rolls around, so I could not even wear that thing to sleep. The Venu 3 is GREAT!

Unbelievable clarity!

I've had multiple Garmin watches, probably 7 total, and have loved them all. I got the Venu 3 because of being able to take calls from the watch but I'm most impressed with the clarity and touch screen. I also like the slimmer look for the office over the fenix. My only complaint is the watch band is short, I'm attach it on the 3rd notch from the end. Overall, another great product!

Awesome design and features

I got this watch for xmas and I am very happy with it. I like the different apps that can be added and mostly the fact that I can use GPS without having to buy data from a wireless mobile provider. I am still learning about the watch and look forward to take full advantage of every feature.

Fine but limitations

Essentially, I'm really disappointed with the limitations this watch has for tracking activities in the gym especially using a treadmill and stationary bike. I found my old Fitbit watch was far better at fitness activity tracking than the Venu 3. In an attempt to see if there was any workaround, I did call Garmin support and they were professional but admitted there was limited functionality because of the need for arm movement with certain activities (which is ridiculous!!). The absurd "workaround" for tracking treadmill usage at just under running pace which requires holding on to the machine was "put the watch in your pocket" since you have to swing your arms for exact tracking. I was set to return it but I've since learned that most of the other fitness watches have the same limitations basically because all companies are locked into using GPS which I have no interest in. In fact I want to turn it off on the Venu 3 but haven't been successful; the supposed manner to turn it off for an activity has never worked. I also don't care for the Sleep Mode which is important to me but it keeps turning itself on assuming I'm going to bed at a certain time even after I turn the Sleep Mode off and I don't think the analysis is as good as my old Fitbit which sadly no longer functions. After reviewing other fitness watch options I did decide to keep the Venu 3 since it appears they all have similar limitations in the fitness tracking activities that are important to me. And the reason I'm keeping the Venu 3: the battery life which is very important to me and this product does excel in that area. Oh, and it's a nice looking watch ...

I really want to like this watch, but...

I've had this watch for a couple of weeks now and find it's just OK. My biggest problem is getting it to work effectively with Garmin Connect. I'm working my way through the troubleshooting checklist but it's painful. For example, I'm instructed to hold the watch face for a few seconds to get to the setup screen, but setup doesn't appear! Connecting to bluetooth takes such a looooooong time zzzzzz. The buttons on the watch aren't labeled as explained in the trouble shooting guide. It's all very painful.
