Like it better than my Venu 2

I've had the Venu 3 for a few weeks. My Venu 2 of about four years experienced the blue triangle and could not be revived. Garmin offered to replace it with another Venu 2 but I decided to upgrade to to Venu 3. Garmin offered a generous discount and I upgraded. I am very glad I did. It has much more to offer to the Venu 2 and I use it for walking, running on the treadmill, rowing and cycling. Great watch.

Great Features on the Venu 3!

This is my third smartwatch and second GARMIN. I love the features of this watch. I am excited to learn more about the HRV tracking. The GARMIN coach is helping me explore running on my own terms, slowly a 5K. The step challenges with random strangers, great inspiration.

Good and Bad

I have had six prior Garmin watches, the last being a Vivoactive 4. The Venu 3 display is very bright in most cases and the ECG function is a good addition. The battery life is much better than the Vivoactive. The golf tracking is not good, yardage does not update. The lap swimming function has several problems vs the Vivoactive. Selecting the activity does not stay on unless you immediately start it. When a lap is paused a message comes up telling you how to use the button, instead of providing stats. The display is also harder to read in the water, but this may be due to goggles.

Great feel, but sleep coach/body is not accurate.

I really like the feel of this watch (45mm). Oli thought it would be too big and heavy but it's a great fit. It tracks exercise and cycling really well (why I bought it) but the sleep coach & body battery are gimmicks. I wore a Samsung active 2 before this watch andy sleep numbers were always in the 85-92 range. All of the sudden I'm in the 50s. The sleep coach has a "one number fits all" algorithm, that doesn't adapt to the wearer. This reflects in the "Body battery" which is also a one size fits all gimmick. Buy this watch for the fitness aspect but the sleep and battery functions are crap. In the picture, it's 9:15am, I feel great, slept 7.5 hours, had coffee, been up since 7:30 but my Venu 3 says I only have 25% body battery to face the day. By the end of the day I'll have 5%. I'm one of the healthiest and most active people I know. I don't need 8+ hours of sleep but the watch (software) chastises me if I don't sleep in every day.

I’ve Never Had a Smart Watch

With that being said, Almost everyone has a snatch watch and I’ve done my fair share of research and I knew I’d get my bank for my buck when I bought the Venu 3. From the feature to the look it’s exactly what I needed. It’s convent and efficient and the interface is amazing. Honestly I wish I would’ve waited because the Venu X1 came out a month later! And I already love that one as well. Job well done Garmin. Job well done. The ONLY Cons are, there is no interface or software enabling texting, I’m sure IPhone charges to enable IOS crossover but even so I can still get all the notifications and information I need from all apps with their icon, and the Bluetooth range could be a little longer. That’s it. But my phone is with me all the time when I need it to be… so I just pull my phone out when I need to text or view anything anyways!

Seems pretty accurate!

I’ve had this watch for about 3 weeks now, and while that’s not an extended period of time-so far it’s really impressed how accurate it seems to be. I’ve had several fitness watches, but this one really seems to be in tune with my body’s needs before and after workouts-as well as accurately tracking my workout. I love the sleep score and body battery feature.

Great smart watch and just what I wanted.

I purchased this primarily for the health monitoring functions. I have had a problem with Afib for the past year, which is hopefully now fully resolved. The Venu 3 gives me easy access to the monitoring and information I want, along with other useful data that I hadn't thought too much about. The battery life is also incredible, usually 10 days between charges, with super quick power refills when needed. The watch is good-looking, and comfortable to wear. Thanks for a really good product.

Fantastic Features and Display

I was ready to upgrade my original Venu which was Garmin's 1st wearable with an AMOLED display. I absolutely love the new Venu 3! With the larger AMOLED display, easy to navigate menu, upgraded features/activities, speaker/mic, long battery life make this a fantastic product!!!! I would highly recommend!!!

Great overall!

Awesome watch to help keep track of all your fitness, sleep, and health. I really use it to help record my progress for fitness, tennis, and golf and tracking my results. The only complaint I have is wishing the Bluetooth could connect a little farther. It seems to only go about 25ft and alerts you every time you disconnect or connect when you are at that distance. Other than that it’s a solid overall watch!

Excellent watch, except for...

I really wanted to love the V3 and would have, had it not been for its inability to track floors or stairs climbed. That's right, there's no altimeter on this watch, even though there's one on the previous version. For that reason, I had to return it.
