Won't Heat Up Properly (two attempts)

Purchased in June 2018 tried to smoke a small 3lb Pork at 225 F could not get meat temperature to get over 140F even after 10 hours. Took it back to Sams Club and tried again and still after 10 hours could not get temp over 140F. Yes the meat thermometer is accurate. Yes I tried to wrap Pork. Yes I used little amount of water.

I ordered this to replace my old electric smoker, so far, I am liking it. I have used it a few times for ribs and chickens int he past month. Everything has turned out as it should. Looking forward to doing some butt roasting it this spring and summer.

Not working out of the box.

Control panel did not work out of the box. Called Manufacturer was told to take back to Sams club. A big waist of time, was offered an exchange, I declined, wont waste my time trouble shooting something that the Manufacturer should have done before shipping product.

ZERO STARS

I followed the instructions and when the smoke box gets up to temp the smoker turns off. Reset everything thinking I did it wrong...no I did it right and it shut off...again...and again. I had to finish my pork shoulder in the oven. This thing gets returned on Monday.

EXTREMEMLY DISAPPOINTED

I have issues with the temperature not going high enough and it not being stated in the description that temperature won't exceed to a certain point even if I want it too. Then the real temperature is off about 10-15 degree's off. In reading similar complaints Masterbuilt doesn't want to answer bad review issues and how this will be fixed or admit there seems to be a systemic issue and want us to call customer service/tech support. Well I did that and that's why I writing here because tech support was not helpful. It looks like you guys are side stepping why many people are having such issues. Apologizing or feeling bad doesn't fix the issue. Money makes me feel better or I can just return it.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I have had my 40" electric smoker for10 years or more I use it a lot from making smoked apps to dinners for 30 people. I smoke 2 to 3 Turkeys every Thanksgiving people love them. For Christmas 2 full prime ribs. I love it

Potentially good product, poor customer support.

I'm having the same problem with the display showing a temperature in the 800 degree range, which I discovered by other reviews is caused by a failure of the bluetooth connection. I removed the app from my phone, and I'm going to try the smoker using just the manual digital display. It's more than just a little disappointing that the company response to all of these issues is to call or email their support contacts. I have both called and emailed. Now 2 days later, I'm still waiting for a response. Not a good first experience with Masterbuilt.

Works great at first but doesn't last long

I was excited about this smoker. It worked great. About 6 months after I had it, it stopped heating. The company sent me a new element. I had to get an electrician to look at it. It doesn't have good insulation and burned the lines. I had it repaired. It lasted about another 6-8 months and it has burned the lines through again. Would not recommend. Too expensive to have to keep repairing. I will not replace with another masterbuilt brand.

Great Smoker

Loving my new electric smoker from Masterbuilt!! I would absolutely recommend this to a friend. Great features and the Bluetooth is extraordinary. I was able to monitor it several times in the evening and during the night. The first crack at it I smoked a pork shoulder for 18 hours. It was awesome! Then two racks of St. Louis spareribs. Everyone thought they were great. They fell off of the bones. In the process of registering my new smoker via the applicable app, it was easy to set up. I will update you guys in a few months during the heat of the summer.
