I tried to contact customer service 2 months after purchase and they said even though I purchased directly from their web store I had to produce a receipt for them to help me. I feel there is likely just a defective part but since I deleted the email with the receipt attached they didn't want to help. Since its temp is irratic and it takes over an hour to reach temp we barely use it.. might as well throw it away at this point.

I was so excited to receive my new smoker, I waited a long time for the newest version to be released. I bought ribs, turkey legs and a nice Boston Butt to smoke on Sunday. Saturday, I put the smoker together, plug it in and it doesn't work. ERR1, thermostat probe is damaged. Needless to say, I am very disappointed. I can't call customer service until Monday when they open...not a good sign when its brand new and it doesn't work out of the box...hopefully this will be the end of my troubles, but as you can imagine, I'm a little skeptical now...I have used a Masterbuilt smoker before and had great success so keeping my fingers crossed. Unfortunately, at this time, I cannot recommend this smoker until I know how it works...

I use my smoker for pork shoulders and ribs mostly. I cook a 10 lb shoulder for 18 hours at 225 and it comes out perfect. Just a bit of bark on the outside and so tender to pull. Makes great sandwiches and plates. For ribs, it smoke them for 2.5 hours at 225, then remove and wrap in foil and smoke for another 2.5 hours at 225. The meat falls off the bone. The bluetooth feature has limited range so I don't use it, but I do use the probe to read the internal temperature. You can push a button on top to get a reading from the probe without opening the smoker.

I bought this for my birthday last year and what a great Smoker! Easy to use and fantastic results. The Bluetooth app makes this smoker fool proof. All my friends and family are amazed at how good my food is with this smoker. Brisket Butts Ribs Hot Dogs are even great! The cover fits perfectly as well. This is a well designed and easy to use.

The heating element will not stay on or get up to temperature to smoke the meats. I called MasterBuilt the lady said, put a hair dryer into the wood chip hole and warm up the internal cavity of the smoker to 65 degrees. I said, WHAT?? I have never heard of such. You should not have to do that. It (the element) should heat up to temp. & shut off & click on as the temp. drops, just like an oven does. It is going back to Sams Club tomorrow. Not happy with it at all. It took 2 hours to put together. Uhh!!!

I bought this unit a few months ago and have been loving it ever since. I have smoked some of the best ribs, brisket, pork but, chicken, turkey, and sweet potatoes. I couldn't even keep the bone in the ribs. I am not your average smoker being a 17 year old girl but this smoker will help you to cook some of the best bbq you've ever tasted.

I was able to install it properly once I found the manual. The manual was kept inside of the smoker and not just inside of the box. By the time I found that I had to flip it over to start, I made a small damage to the thing at the bottom of the machine by opening it up side up since the bottom of the machine has something which is raised from the bottom level. Otherwise it is a very good one.

but I love it. I was able to turn it on, set the temp, and time from my phone. The only thing that I have found wrong is that the directions do not explain how to put the smoker into bluetooth connect mode. Couldn't even find it online, but I eventually figured it out.
