Stopped Working in Less Than a Month

We've had two previous Nine Stars Motion Sensor trashcans; lasted years. In fact, our old one is still working. But we saw this one and liked the new style, so we ordered it. The first one came in with two dents in it. Contacted Nine Stars both by phone and email and did not receive a reply. So I called Sam's CS and the lady shipped a replacement immediately and sent us a prepaid return label for the damaged one. Got the new one - no dents, so that was good. It's been three weeks now and within the past week the lid simply doesn't open. At other times it doesn't close completely and we have to shut it manually, rather defeating the whole purpose. We put new batteries in AGAIN, just in case, but it's still not working. Based on the lack of response from Nine Stars, we're going to return it. It's much lighter weight than our old one, too. Luckily, we didn't throw that out, so back into the kitchen it goes. And I did eventually just a couple of days ago, get a response from "Angela" at Nine Stars to my email: saying that they could not reply to my email, as their email address was "under construction". What??? How did she email me then? I only wish I was joking. Kudos to Sam's Club for their excellent customer service. Thumbs down to Nine Stars.
