This is the second same trash bin I purchased. The first one is similar looking but stopped working after 16 months. I bought a second one because I liked the touchless function and Walmart price is good, thinking maybe I was not too lucky the first time. The second bin started to show signs of failure after just a few months. The manual close button stopped working all together. Then the touchless motion started to stop working randomly to fail completely a few months later. Less then a year after my purchase I have a useless trash bin I need to open manually, which it was not made for (too small a handle), I won't buy a third one for sure!

I picked this up at the local supercenter to replace one I bought from Costco about 4 years ago. Same brand and described as similar. Well, I would conclude that Walmart is to Costco what Walmart is to Nordstroms. Poorly made, and returned it the same day, Enough said.

I regret purchasing this trash can. It only opens half of the time, and I have to constantly turn it on and off to get it to function properly. Also, it's supposed to be convenient to put the band on the garbage bag and keep the bag hidden, but it makes no sense. If it's not showing, it's slipping into the can. So long story short, highly unrecommended. Low quality, bad design, and mechanical errors.

You get what you paid for. This product isn't too expensive and that reflects the quality as well. I bought this product for about 3 months, yet it doesn't work well any more. The cover for the battery fell off, and the handle is too small that is very useless when your battery stopped working. I would rather buy the manual that you just step on to open. It's way easier! If they combined the battery with the step on, I would buy it again and for double the money, my sister had a ITouch from Walmart.com and it works better.

sadly, I don't have an overall positive review. I really really wished I had! if the company told me its just this particular one acting up, that would make my day and get another. i even kept it w/o complaint tho it came with a dent in top, cuz i really wanted this!!!! but it's not even a month gone by and this doesn't workanymore. it would open wen I walked passed 2throw laundry in washer, yet for actually tossing in the trash, nothing! won t open, my husband is laughing at me said it would only open when I dressed up. buy a US made rubbermaid or other brand plastic step bin, cheaper and always worked.

I've only had mine for about 2 months and the lid won't open anymore. I can hear the motor trying to open and the light flashes as usual but it doesn't open by itself anymore. Where can I buy a replacement sensor lid? I've been looking everywhere for it! I just want it replaced

Mad item with a mind of its own. Followed instructions and video. Refused to open and close with a 'wave'. Needs a lot of batteries for something eco-friendly. Gave up entirely and just lift open the lid. Then suddenly from nowhere, weeks later started opening and closing at random and now appears to be working. Not worth sending back and fits the space I needed. Just hoping it continues to cooperate.

Purchased this item from our local Walmart 3 months ago. All of the sudden the lid stopped working just like all of the reviews said. UGH, can't believe I still purchased this! I have replaced batteries, called customer service. It is so difficult to return a piece of garbage after 30 days of purchase. This item is the garbage that it is supposed to be containing. I thought this was the perfect item for our needs but the product just doesn't last. The battery containment is very thin plastic. Very cheap feel to the light weight item. The stickers on the outside of the bin are a nice touch but that's not where people are looking when tossing something in. The motor is loud. The rings are difficult to take in and out each time. Smell is not locked out with this. If liquid comes through your garbage bag, it leaks on the floor. The containers are NOT liquid tight.

When I first received the cans they worked great. Now 3 months later and the tall kitchen can is no longer automatically opening when I wave my hand over it. I have to push open and close to operate. It also does not close completely. Very disappointed and need to return it.

This trash can doesn’t hold up and not worth the money. The design with the extra piece to hold the bag in is an okay idea but not for a busy family the way it’s designed it can easily be included in the trash bag and throw Ed out which happened to mine. Then the lid cracked so t doesn’t open all the way now so may as well not be an automatic open trash can. I do not recommend this can at all.
