I chose to prepare this on the stove and it wasn't too difficult, the instructions were simple and it took around 12 minutes from start to finish. If you're tight on time you can also opt to microwave, which takes 7 minutes. The udon turned out great, there was plenty of noodles to feed two with plenty of leftovers. The beef was very tender and flavorful, very surprising to me given it's a packaged meal. The sauce was quite nice, however a bit too sweet for my taste. I think this meal would be perfect with a bit less sugar in the sauce, or perhaps just mixing in less to the noodles. Overall, I would strongly consider purchasing the Monterey Gourmet Foods Teriyaki Beef Udon Stir Fry Kit again and would recommend this to anyone who values a quick, easy, and flavorful meal— even if it is a bit sweet.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I've bought these kits a few times now. They are pretty decent on their own. Steak is about the quality you'd expect, not nearly as good and tender as fresh, but still decent. I prefer a bit more variety in flavor (and am not a fan of the water chestnuts - I pick those out) - so I alway toss in a generous amount of fresh veggies - broccoli, peppers, etc. It would easily be a good meal on its own, and it's super easy to modify to your own preferences and stretch it out for more servings!

My husband and I suffered a night of horrible gas after eating this. Definitely will not buy again. Noodles were broken apart, did not come with vegetables that was displayed in pictures. Initially we thought maybe next time we will doctor it up with some mushrooms and water chestnuts (as there weren't enough) but after a night of death bombs being launched there is no way.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I received Monterey Gourmet Foods Teriyaki Beek Udon Stir Fry Kit for free for my honest review. If you expect this to look like what is on the package, you'll be in for a surprise. The noodles are much wider, the carrots aren't shredded; they're small chuncks. There may be small bits of other vegetables but no large pieces like the packaging shows (no water chestnuts in my package). The sodium on one serving alone is 1140 mg, which is half of the recommended daily allowance. It is so salty tasting to the point where it's impossible to eat. I also think the plastic packaging is too much. I will not be buying this in the future.

At first my husband said it was a little too much Teriyaki but then he said he got used to the wang of it and it was good. It was easy to make . My husband put it on the stove because he said it was easier than the steps for the microwave.

Wondering if folks who reviewed this poorly didn't pay attention to the expiration date or did the microwave method. I can't imagine it would taste good in the microwave, but I made it in the skillet which is listed as recommended. Was fantastic! My only critic was not enough veggies, but that's easily remedied with a bag of frozen stir fry veggies.

The taste was very off, I thought I threw away the vegetables until I found the tiny packet of dehydrated vegetables if that's what you would call them. Would maybe serve 3 adults if it was edible but we had to throw ours out. I hate wasting food but it was not edible.

We really enjoyed this. It was very tasty and after eating this I've been looking for you Don noodles to try and duplicate this so that we can have it as a family on the cheaper scale (save money, making your own stirfry). We are definitely going to buy this again.

This was a real let down. The noodles required 3x the amount of water to even begin to rehydrate. I don't know how this was in the refrigerated area with the heat & eat meals. It's so processed. The sauce was super salty. The vegetable packet was 2 tsp of dehydrated green onion and the meat tasted almost spoiled. A big waste of money!

The kit came with everything needed: container, udon noodles, meat, and sauce. Instructions are printed very clear and easy to follow. It took less than 10 minutes from beginning to end to prep, and the result came out perfectly well. The udon tastes great, fresh ( unlike other packaged udon that has very weird taste), meat and sauce go well together. It's a little bit sweet, but I don't mind. What left me wonder was that there was 3 pack of noodle, 2 meat, and 1 sauce, so it's was hard if you want to split it out. But overall, I would rate it 4.5/5. Will consider buying more next time.
