So far so good!

Have only used it on propane and only for break in purposes. Started on the second try using the auto electric start. Runs beautifully. Have not fully tested under load but did plug a few things in to make sure outlets were working. Have not tested the 30Amp output yet but plan to soon with a travel trailer/AC. Remote start also works perfectly. Runs very quiet with small loads, will see how it does under higher load soon. The main users manual said to pour the entire bottle of included oil in before the first start. It was very clear...THE ENTIRE BOTTLE. I would advise against doing that as it is more oil that the generator has capacity for. I would suggest adding slowly and periodically reinstalling the plug to check the level. It wasn't until after filling that I discovered better instructions in the Quick Start guide which say to add slowly until full. I should have reviewed both sets of instructions before proceeding. They really should change the main users manual to agree with the Quick Start guide. It didn't hurt anything, just made a bit of a mess on the garage floor after removing the included funnel.

Great Features in a Dual Fuel Invertor Generator

I was seeking an inverter generator with dual fuel capability and electric start. This generator's features including the multi function LED display combined with a low decibel noise factor meets our needs. The printed manual is definitely a step above what you encounter with some other manufacturers.

Five star generator

Only complaint is changing the oil. 14 dollar suction gun (looks like a grease gun) eliminated that issue. Its quiet, started on first pull out of the box. Ran 36 straight hours on a full tank + 3 gallons in sub zero weather. Electric start worked flawless.

iGen5000FDc Generator is Impressive

I purchased an iGEN5000DFc generator in July '24 and it has exceeded all my expectations. This inverter generator is amazingly quiet, powerful, and very fuel efficient. I especially like the electric start, LED status display, quality, and relatively small machine footprint without sacrificing generous amperage. I currently use the generator during power outages which typically run for several days at a time (happens quite often here in the Gulf Coast) to run two refrigerators, a large freezer, floor fans, TV/computers, and various lights; and there is still amperage to spare to run a large portable AC unit, clothes washer and dryer. Even though it is a dual-fuel, I have only been using LP so far. I highly recommend this generator.

Great features and dual fuel

A lot of times people buy too much generator power and end up burning fuel needlessly. Make sure you do the math to figure out what you absolutely need in terms of appliances and supplemental items when there's a power outage. The iGen4500DF hit all the sweet spot for power, data, and duration.

Great All Purpose Genset

I purchased the Westinghouse iGen4500DFc unit after completing a very complete market evaluation. The unit has everything I need for a back up Genset for our home and for dry camping in our trailer. Being able to add a second unit to increase the system overall power output make this ideal for later updates. Very easy to set up and maneuver on hard surfaces. Remote start is very nice and the noise level in operation is within what I consider the acceptable range. Propane consumption has been nominal during our usage.

Easy to use

We could not get the generator to work. I called the number I had in the information you sent. The person who answered could not fix the problem. Took my information and said someone would call me the next day. ThAt was on Monday Sept 2. Today is Sept 5. I'm still waiting. I guess I'll wait for ever.

So far its working well

Did my first oil change at 3 hrs and again at 8 hrs. I was shocked at how much metal was in the first oil change. There were large shavings, and a ton of glitter. Still glitter in the second. I will change it again at 15hrs. Manual does not clearly state break-in time, but says change oil after first 25hrs and do not exceed 50% load during break-in. Also the batteries for the remote came dead and the regulator came with rusted screws and corroded aluminum. After replacing the batteries in the remote, its a great feature to have. I have not put any gasoline in mine yet and plan on using propane exclusively. I live at 4000ft and use this at altitudes slightly higher. A high altitude carb kit is required for altitudes above 5000ft (its just a jet kit). Not sure if this applies to propane operation.

Nice Generator

I bought this generator after going without power for several days after a hurricane. It comes nicely packaged with everything needed to get started except a 10 mm wrench for the oil drain plug. The generator is extremely quiet and started up with no hesitation on the first push of the start button. I am still breaking it in on low load (less than 50% load), so can't really comment on longer life reliability. The only additional comments I have from the initial unpackaging and startup: 1. Great user manual, parts list, etc. and the fact it comes with some tools, oil, and a funnel. 2. The battery strap was not attached on my unit and the battery had flipped around some. 3. It's kind of difficult gaging the oil level when adding oil since the oil dip stick is on the oil fill plug. Very easy to overfill. 4. The oil drain plug is a little difficult to get to from the oil access panel. 5. The remote start FOB was attached to the pull cord, at first I thought it hadn't been sent. 6. The battery access panel had come off, but was in the box. 7. Some minor mistakes in the user manual. 8. Overall it appears to be a very nice generator. Extremely quiet for a generator. My wife and I could have a conversation standing next to the generator. 9. The manual says that it also should have included a cable for connecting additional generators, but I didn't have that cable in the box. All in all, I am pretty happy with it so far. I am running off propane, so I can't comment on operation with gasoline.

Sharp edges and off center

So far it's good haven't really used it but it is quiet . The openings for the battery and oil openings are like razor blades they could have smoothed out the plastic. The oil drain plug is almost impossible to get to. They could have just made the opening a bit bigger or moved it to the left.
