Very simple

I just took delivery of my new Westinghouse igen4500DF. Very simple to prepare for operation! Extremely quiet when running. Starts with key fob, push button, and pulling the starter rope is very easy. I looked for days to find what I wanted, and this was worth the wait! I love the Duel Fuel feature! Propane is so much cheaper than gas. We got this for our new camper and can't wait to hit the road! Thanks Westinghouse!!!

Very easy set up & easy to use.

We bought this for our camper that is sitting on 19 primitive acres that we purchased. We wanted a generator that met our needs for power supply & was easy to operate. We had another gas powered generator that wouldn't start all weekend, so I did my research & this seemed to be the best option. We have only used it one weekend, but it does everything you need it to do. We are quite happy with our purchase!

Love all the features

I've had it about a week , got it broke in, I researched duel fuel generators for awhile before purchase, My biggest surprise is how quiet it is! Also all the features, remote start, gas gauge, easy to assemble just put oil in, connect battery, put gas in and turn it on it's that simple!

So Far So Good

I just received the iGen4500DF. It looks good, started right up, runs like it should, very quiet as advertised, and produces electricity. Absolutely no complaints other than it kind of sputters on start up more than I would expect. So far completely satisfied. I would give it 5 stars in a follow up review six or so months down the road and it continues to do what it is intended to do.

Solid Generator

Heavy, well built generator. First one arrived damaged; received second within 3-days. Care must be taken adding oil the first time. Not consistent amount left in various generators, per reviews. Push funnel in tight and put a rag in against the bottom of the upper oil fill to catch drips that stay close to fill tube (do not mess with lower oil drain plug... can drain oil out the fill by using funnel -- much easier). Pull cord a couple times (with electronics OFF) to splash-lube everything before taking final oil reading level. Per reviews, generator will not run if not enough OR too much oil. Don't start the generator until you get the oil level right.

Perfect generator!

I'm using this generator to supply our horse trailer with living quarters. It's light to carry, extremely quiet and very easy to operate. I compared with all other brand before purchasing it and I' really satisfied with my selection. Great purchase!!

So Far So Good

Went through the setup steps which were easy. Battery is easy to connect. Does not require all of the oil that came with the unit. Tried to start it up on gasoline. Would not crank and run until I switched the ECO switch to the ON position. About four hours later, it would crank without the ECO switch being in ON position. Also cranked up using propane. It would not start up on propane using the recoil start but it would start up on gasoline using the recoil start. Nice to have the basic tools need to add oil, attach propane hose and remove spark plug. I have not put a load on it to see how it operates. Only four stars since I could not get the recoil start using propane and have not put a load on it. A storage compartment for the tools would be nice.

Worked great right out of the box

Purchased this for upcoming winter preparation. Initial testing went great on both gasoline and propane fuel. Was able to start via the push-button, pull-handle, and remote all as expected. Quiet (for a generator) operation, couldn't even hear it inside certain rooms of the house. Power output was smooth and as expected.

SO Easy to Use!

I'm a small, older lady. I purchased the iGen 4500 DF. Following the well-written directions, this generator was easy to unbox, move to location with handy trolly handle, add oil, hook up to propane, pair with remote and start to use! If you want quiet, this is your baby! Pushed my budget a little; but the trade offs and dependability of a quality product name are worth it! It's great to know I am covered dealing with the numerous power outages in my rural area.

Compact and Quiet

Just received the unit and powered it up for the first time today, so this review just covers my initial reactions. First, this unit is very compact - it is roughly the same size and weight, but double the power as an older 1800/2070W Generator that I was replacing. It is also significantly quieter (probably less than half as loud). The built-in telescoping handle, wheels, power meter display, electric start, and CO sensor are all great bonus features. This is primarily to be used as an emergency residential backup generator, so the main reasons I chose this model were the low THD output (suitable for powering more sensitive electronic devices) and the ability to run off propane (no more worrying about fuel stabilizer and gas going bad). I only did limited testing so far, but after connecting the battery, adding oil, and hooking up the propane tank, the unit started easily with the electric start and quickly reached a stable output voltage. I plugged in a kill-a-watt meter to verify that it measured the same voltage as what was displayed on the generator panel - they matched (124V). I connected an upright freezer as a test load and the generator held steady with no noticeable dip in voltage. I did have a few minor issues: first, although the unit arrived in good condition and was well-packed, the battery was not properly secured inside. There was a strap inside the compartment, but it was loose and not attached to anything and there were not pictures or guides in the manual to show how it should be properly attached. The second issue is that the access cover over the oil fill / dipstick / drain is too small. It is not possible for an adult male to fit a hand inside this area. Worse, the drain bolt is offset so it will be very difficult to even get a wrench on the drain bolt. Poor access to the oil drain is probably the biggest weakness with this generator that I've seen so far and the only thing keeping it from 5 stars. It seems it would be pretty easy to fix (or at least improve) with a slight re-design to the plastic side-wall / cover.
