So far, so good

Had this for around a month and a half and it's working well so far. Initially, it would take a few tries to start, but after a few hours, it will start on first attempt. I do wish that it would maintain output a bit longer before idling down. I was using a welder with it, and it would bog the welder down for a second until it throttled up. The handle rattles a tiny bit as well, but not too bad.

Perfect Generator for 5th Wheel Service!

I bought two of these instead of paying for the ONAN 5500 option on my new Grand Designs 5th Wheel. About 1/3 the price, nearly twice the Wattage and double the amperage when joined together with the Westinghouse cord. They fit easily in the bay where the ONAN would have sat, with room to spare! Runs all three AC units, water heater, fridge, etc... without any issues. Dual Fuel a bonus as well! Definitely pay attention to the specs for jetting based on altitude. Comes from factory jetted for under 2000'. I live at 6000' so had to swap out jets in carbs and nozzles on regulartors for propane. Super quiet, ultra portable, such a great value!

Perfect

Purchased 1 month ago for my horse trailer with living quarters. It is perfect for what I want. I started immediately with the wonderful remote on propane fuel, it powers the air conditioner, convection microwave, and everything else that I have even though I do not yet have the high altitude regulator for the propane. I am female, and I have never owned a generator before, I was worried that it would be complicated and difficult, but it could NOT be easier to use. So far, I could not be more impressed and happy with this purchase.

Excellent features, very quiet and great value!

I bought this unit recently and have been impressed. It's much quieter than I expected and has worked out really well. The unit has all the features I need. I'm using this as a back generator for my home. However, I have found it easy to pull around and use around my property as well. It weighs 98 lbs so it's not one you're just going to carry around but the pull out handle and wheels make it easy.

Quiet!

I am so happy with how quiet this generator is compared to others I have used. The 4 stroke engine and cover really damp down the noise. I have it on my deck just outside the living room, and with the doors an windows closed it makes a minimal impact. Also love running it on propane.

Works great!!

We purchased this to use with our 38 foot fifth wheel toy hauler, as the onboard Onan generator uses a ton of gas when dry camping. We used this when dry camping, and it ran both ACs and lights perfectly. Only overloaded when we accidentally forgot and turned on the electric water heater with both ACs running, which we knew going in would be a no no on a single unit. It didn't run quite as long as indicated, but we ran it two consecutive nights, one night on 3.4 gallons of gas and one night on a full 20 pound propane tank, both night starting at 8 PM running 1AC, and we Did turn on the hot water heater for showers. The temp outside was in the 70s overnight, so we didn't need to run both ACs, but I'm sure we could have if needed. With gas, it ran from 8 PM until 9 AM (13 hours). With propane, it ran from 8 PM until 7:45 AM ( 11.75 hours). So although not as long as Westinghouse says, it's still ran and kept up all night like our onboard does, but used way less fuel, and we didn't have to refill in the middle of the night like with our smaller standalone generator. It's not the quietest on the market but it's close enough and we love that it's dual fuel!

OVERFILLED OIL

While I haven't even had a chance to start my new generator, I did experience its operation at Elk camp this year. A friend owns one and it ran super quiet and flawlessly all week on a 20 gal. propane tank. However, my new one arrived today and I read the operator's manual front and back. I followed the directions on filling it with oil. Unfortunately, there was too much oil in the container that was provided, and as I removed the funnel, oil started pouring into the engine compartment and onto the garage floor. I would say that nearly a full cup of oil came out. What a mess to clean up. Now if some of you are thinking that my garage floor is not level, that's not the case. I also got some nasty cuts on both hands due to the sharp edges inside the various compartments - so I advise wearing thin gloves when possible.

The remote control feature is totally misleading!

Have had this generator for 60 days, would not start after a few days with the battery switch on, which you must do to start remotely, took to get it serviced, was told the battery isn't charged properly. Called Westinghouse tech and was told battery switch cant be left on. In other words you have to turn off after using, and then go back and turn on before starting!!! How can this be considered remote start!! Very disappointed!

Great generator not quite fully assembled.

We purchased our iGen4500DF several months ago for backup power on our motorhome. We finally have had a chance to use it, and first use was not sp special. It started but ran rough. I stopped and reviewed the issue on the internet, and found many are shipped without the wire connection to the auto-choke control attached. This makes the unit run rough. I had to remove 3 out of 4 side panels, and sure enough, my choke wire coupler was dangling there, not connected. I connected it, reassembled the covers, and tried again. This time it cleared up and ran very smooth. I am assuming this is all I will have to do, but my thinking is I should NOT have to disassemble a new product to get it running! Come on Westinghouse! Many people complain of this. Get it right when you build it!

Tons of options, but not sure on the quality yet!

Seems really nice, it is louder than I expected. According to the DB rating on the website it should not be any louder than Honda 2200 inverter. But it is definitely louder. The choke was manually on so it ran rich till I figured that out. After turning the manual choke off it would not start on its own. The electric choke was apparently unhooked out of the control board. (Note picture) I called customer service on a Sunday morning and they answered the phone so I'm really impressed with that! Told me what the issue more than likely was and they were correct. Now it starts great. The air filter wasn't seated properly so it was going to suck dirt. Luckily the manual choke was on so while I was addressing that issue I had the side cover off I decided to look at the air filter to see how quality it looked. Overall it seems really nice. I haven't really used it yet so time will tell! Price was reasonable compared to the Honda, but the quality isn't there. More options though, if it came down to it I'd still buy the Westinghouse again. Time will tell!
