Easy to unpack and set-up. No damage noticed nor disconnected wiring as others have noted in their reviews. Ready to go except for adding oil, hooking up the battery, and adding fuel. Quick Start Guide (QSG) said to add oil until full. Manual said to add entire bottle of oil and showed a picture of full that doesn't match the unit (opening is straight to side rather than angled up). Neither even mentioned the dip stick on the plug. So I slowly filled until the level hit the bottom of the threads on the plug port similar to the picture. The dipstick showed about halfway up the hashed area. So that seemed OK and left a little bit in the bottle. It's possible the entire bottle could fit before hitting the high mark on the dipstick. I didn't try it. They should clean this up so all matches and gives clear guidance. The QSG said to make sure the battery was hooked up. It wasn't and it also was not secured in place. You could miss it but it was sitting on a rubber strap. I reseated the battery with strap over the top and attached the clip. Unlike the guide picture, the battery cables were already attached to the battery and there was just a quick connect in the line to push together. The manual does show that however. No mention was made of needing to charge the battery first so I didn't. I hooked up a propane tank which was as easy as hooking up to grills, etc. Note that there is an o-ring in one end of the hose you need to attach. It can fall out, hence the plastic bag that came over that end. I currently plan to only use propane in it but nice to have the option and one reason I bought this one. The manual and QSG have other errors in them. There is no on/off “Battery” switch. There is a Run/Stop switch instead. There is no Start/Stop push button either as shown. It says ON/OFF on it with “PUSH BUTTON ELECTRIC START” under it. The two control panel pictures in the manual on p. 10 and 11 do not match each other and neither matches the actual control panel. It is significantly re-arranged compared to those pictures. While I noted various document errors, they were easy to figure out. However, I do expect documents to be correct. I only ran it once so far for an hour for check out and break in. It started right up on the second attempt. Probably need to get fuel in the line and air out on the first try. After that, ran like a charm. I did a couple of shut downs and restarts with the unit's button and remote. Fired right back up each time. Slightly noisier than I had hoped but I think quieter than many others I have heard. Can easily converse next to it but can hear inside the house. My first generator so nothing to directly compare to other than neighbors' units I've heard from a distance, some of which are very loud. Per the manual I only used it up to roughly half power for the break in period (first 5 hrs.). I hooked up to my chest freezer and varied some lights and small heaters on/off to change the load up and down. Always worked fine. Tried both 20 amp outlets and both USB ports. No issues noticed. Almost :-) looking forward to the next power outage to really use it. 5 stars for features and usage so far and minus 1 star from that for document errors.

I bought 2 months ago and just got it out of the shop. It ran for ten minutes on propane I turned it off with the remote and then I couldn't get it to start again. It would run on gasoline but would always stop when changing over to Propane. I dropped it off at the shop Westinghouse told me to. When I picked it up they said nothing was wrong with it. Now I just had may first 2hrs of trying to break it in. With me luck.

I ordered this in august. My intention was to power my grand design imagine 2600RB.(travel trailer) days before our Labor Day camping trip we lost power at our home. I fired up the igen4500DF and was able to easily run my refrigerator, saving all our food. Since, I've had my camper connected and with the A/C unit running, the refrigerator and lights it's only drawing 50% of the units capability. I love that it runs on propane. I'm 50 in ok shape and can lift the unit into the back of my truck. I couldn't be happier, great engineering Westinghouse !

The generator works as advertised so far. It is handy to be able to use either gasoline or propane to run this generator. It is very quiet, and appears to be powerful enough to power my new RV, although I haven't been able to verify that just yet. The remote start is also a very nice feature. The unit did come with a crack in the housing case near the pull handle. This is only a cosmetic issue and doesn't appear to affect the functionality of the unit. There was no damage to the original packaging, so this unit was shipped from the factory with this issue. Unfortunately, I didn't discover the issue until it was too late, so now I'm stuck with it. At least the damage is only cosmetic at this point.

Purchased this generator (iGen111000DFc) the end of June 2024. I can only comment on pre-starting items. 5-stars since I can't fault it for things I haven't tested as yet. Packaging: very good+ Box was in very good condition. Only minor indents from the plastic strapping (expected). Shipped on a small pallet for easier transport/handling. Unboxed Condition: very good + It looked brand new, as it should. No dents, scratches or any other apparent defects in packaging or transport. Other items; starting, running, dual fuel options, ease of use, reliability, etc. I will attempt to update after I have had additional experience with the generator. I'm hoping the performance is matched by the packaging/appearance!

I bought the 4500DF very recently. I live in a rural, mountainous area, and frequent outages to my cabin required to finally get a backup generator. Dual fuel, inverter, and so quiet! I placed it on my deck by a window and barely sounds like an in wall AC unit! Plenty of power for my fridge and router so I can keep connected to the net. I also loved that the unit came with everything to get'r up and running in minutes, big up for a gen novice like me. Now I have peace of mind I'll have power during these unprecedented outages. Thumbs up, Westinghouse!

I bought this generator 11/16/21. So far we have really enjoyed the large fuel capacity, and how quiet it operates. We use it for overnight stops while traveling to our destination in or RV. It also has benefited use if for some reason the RV park looses power we can stay comfortable until it comes back on. One of the features I picked this generator is the duel fuel option. I keep the gas tank full of fuel and if I run out of gas I switch to propane to keep the lights , heat, refrigerator, or AC running.

Review of Westinghouse 3,700/4,500-Watt Dual-Fuel Inverter Generator (CARB Compliant) Given the number of generator/inverters options in the marketplace, what factors were important in my selecting the Westinghouse 3,700/4,500-Watt Dual-Fuel Inverter Generator? Obviously, capacity had to be in the sweet spot for my intended use. 3700 running watts, 4500 starting watts will handle the critical appliances for the event I have a power failure at my home. And with the apparent increasing risk of power grid failure, this may be a small investment for a measure of security. I wanted and got a control panel that is quite inclusive, not just a place for a wide range of receptacles. I wanted a LED data screen showing the essential factors: fuel level, remaining run time and power output. It may seem minor, but very few generator options have a remote start key fob. That was a deal breaker for a guy who makes full use of the tv remote. It's just a great convenience to add to the electric start on the generator. I doubt I will use the propane option but if gas stations are closed in an electrical failure it is nice to know I can remove the LP tank from my bbq to power on. Another important consideration is the eco mode which automatically adjusts engine RPM/fuel consumption to what is necessary to provide no more than the load requires. I wanted and got safeguards like a low oil indicator and an overload protector. But as I read through the User's Manual, more and more features were revealed. The User Manual itself is worthy of accolades. I rarely receive a user's manual so well written, clear, comprehensive. Additionally, perhaps for the less patient, Westinghouse provides a one page Quick Start Guide. But reading the whole Manual is a worthwhile experience. What other small engine company includes a drain hose on its float bowl to completely remove gasoline? Not only does the generator charge the battery while the engine is running, should you have a more sustained period of non use, Westinghouse provides a small plug-in battery charging cable. Not intended as a trickle charger, rather the company suggests plugging it in over night, sufficient to charge the battery without overcharging it. Westinghouse provides a small bag of essential tools like a spark plug wrench. They include a funnel for adding oil. The gasoline tank includes a filter. It just goes on. As time passes, I think I'm going to be very glad I purchased the Westinghouse Inverter Generator.

I bought an iGen5000DFc (why is it also referred to as iGen4500Dfc?) about two weeks ago and all I have done with it so far is ran the break-in period for about seven hours and changed the oil after the initial oil fill. The unit appeared to have had a hard drop during shipping. Both the upper and lower styrofoam packing was broken and both access panels were popped open. There was a hole in the shipping box and the battery strap is missing. The User Manual is vague and in some cases misleading regarding the operation of the unit. There is a great deal of warning information but operating and maintenance information took reading and rereading and visits to Youtube to figure out. There is very limited information regarding the Data Center but I eventually figured out most of it on my own. My biggest problem was with the small sizes of the two access panels. After skinning up my hands plugging in the battery and searching for the still missing battery strap I went to the oil access panel and used the screw in funnel that was provided for the initial oil fill which worked out good. After the five hour recommended break-in period I wanted to change the oil which I do on all my new engines. This was a problem. The block drain fitting does not line up with the access panel but after some finesse and more skinned knuckles I drained the oil. Putting the fitting back in was another problem but with a combination of wrenches, sockets and duct tape got the job done. I suggest having your engineering designers take a look at this issue as I expect it to be a problem for many unless they have access to some special wrenches and small dexterous hands. I purchased this generator in May 2019 and it has stopped starting either remote or otherwise. The rip cord handle fell off, I never used the handle! The fuel float is broke and when I started it with gasoline, all of the gasoline came pouring out of the bottom of the unit! Several other issues, too many to name.
