Our two families had a ton of fun and laughs playing this. It helped one of us had a lot of experience and was a good coach, or I might have given up early. Note the "Pro Tip" in the instructions (or at the end of the cute video) to use full sentences, even though each word must be only one syllable long. Once I got that coaching, it went much better. Also, I stole ideas from the players who were good at it, like "beast" (yes) for "animal" (no! 3 syllables). This game takes a little practice but is so worth it.

This game is lots of fun. It is like Password. You try to get your teammates to guess the word on the card. What makes this game extra challenging is you can only use words with one syllable. If you use a word with more than one syllable you get hit by the inflatable club . The game play says 15 minutes but you can keep going for a longer game

But we stumbled upon poetry for me and it falls we thought this would be too hard for children to Figure out. Surprisingly we were able to play many many rounds of this game with ages from 6 all the way up to 50! The concept of the game is very easy you try to get your team or partner to say word using Only one syllable words. What makes this fun is if you say a word that has more than one syllable's other team gets to wack you with an inflatable caveman Branch. I seriously think that was my kid's favorite part!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I recently had the chance to try a great game called Poetry for Neanderthals. It’s a card game from the makers of Exploding Kittens. The game is for ages 7 and up and can be played with as little as two players. The idea is to use one syllable words to get your team to guess the secret phrase. If a word more than one syllable is used, you get bonked with an inflated club, known as the “No” stick. Had a great time playing this with friends and family. It made us laugh sounding like cavemen.

My family had a blast playing this game! Any excuse to hit one another with a stick, am I right?! The game was fun, yet challenging enough to want to play over and over. My parents loved this game so much that they even went out and bought the game for an upcoming game night that they're hosting! This is definitely a keeper and will be brought out many more times in the future!

I received a free sample of the game and expansion through tryazon for my review. I played this with friends and neighbors and it was fun. My SO is dyslexic and it was a bit challenging for him. It was a lot more challenging coming up with poems with words with one syllable than I thought it would be but it was fun hitting people with the no stick.

It's simple to learn, easy to get better at, and funny to watch. The game has teams compete against one another to guess words using clues of only one syllable. It's hilarious to listen to the clues that each person creates - one of us talks like a caveman while one talks like a robot, for example. The game provides an inflatable club to (gently) beat anyone who breaks the rules. Enjoyable for all, with simple rules and quick game play. Love it.

This is perfect for a holiday get together. It is SUPER easy and fun. This is the game is ideal for a large group but can be played with a small group. You can use it with family members. You can use it with fifth grade students and up. This game was fun. The fun part occurs when the poet has to use one syllable words in their sentence. It forces the poet to really think before they speak or they get whopped with the soft blow up bat. We had tons of fun! 🤩
