I took this game to work with me and had my highly educated colleagues play with me during lunch. We laughed so hard that there were tears in our eyes. The gist: give clues to your teammates to guess a word or phrase. The one rule? You can only speak in single syllables, like a Neanderthal. (Ice cream: I eat cold snack in round ***** on top of hard cone. Or something like that.) If you speak in a multi-syllable word, you get whacked with the "NO stick". (An inflatable club.) We all especially loved getting to whack our neighbor when they spoke in multi-syllables. We had such a good time and it went pretty quickly as well. (10 players finished in less than 30 minutes.) The only thing I did not like about it was actually blowing up the club. The plastic sticks together and blowing air went nowhere. I was finally able to separate the plastic enough to get a bit of air in, then it became easier. But also getting the air out proved difficult. The air nozzle isn't the easiest to work with.

This game is lots of fun. It is like Password. You try to get your teammates to guess the word on the card. What makes this game extra challenging is you can only use words with one syllable. If you use a word with more than one syllable you get hit by the inflatable club . The game play says 15 minutes but you can keep going for a longer game & make it as long as you'd like.

This is a hilarious game that is fun for the whole family! Having to only speak in one syllable words can get very tricky and there was even more pressure knowing someone was right beside you making sure you don’t cheat. We felt the wrath of the inflatable “no” stick many times and it came with so many giggles. This is a perfect addition for any holiday get togethers!

It is a relatively small box so easy to pack for car trip. This game is sooo much fun. My kids are 18 and 19 and their boyfriend and girlfriend had so much fun playing it with me and my wife. It has a cute little blow up wood like club that a Neanderthal would have carried. You can spend hours enjoying this game. If you enjoy board games or card games or just good family fun this is a game for you. I recommend you put this in your game room or game selection and a must to travel with. We laughed so much with this game and will play it many more times with new friends!

Me and my family had a brilliant time playing the game, the game was a mix of challenging and easy words to describe. The no stick had been a favourite part of the game and overall would recommend to anyone who wants a party game that anyone can play and enjoy.

This game was a great party game! It was similair to Taboo but with a twist; you can only use one syllable words. We had a group of 12 adults clapping to words to check the number of syllables before speaking which was hilarious. And you can't beat bonking your friend's head with a club when they mess up. We had a chance to try out Poetry for Neanderthals with family and friends, and had a blast with it. It's very similar to Taboo, but with a couple of fun twists such as only using one-syllable words and bonking people on the head with an inflatable club if you make a mistake. It was fun for kids and adults, and the game can be as long or as short as you have time for. It's another great game from the same company that makes Exploding Kittens.

Poetry for Neanderthals is a very fun game, I don't think our group has ever laughed so hard playing a game. It is very easy to set up and gameplay rules are easy to follow. We thought oh how easy, but it is not as easy as you would think the inflatable club was used frequently. A perfect party game for any occasion, I would highly recommend.
