Decent Value

Decent TV for the money; this is my first Vizio TV. I've mainly owned Samsung smart TVs although I recently purchased a 65" LG OLED TV which has all but ruined lesser TVs for me. The Vizio is solid construction with a nice bezel. The menus are easy to navigate and take their inputs quickly. The remote is quite nice as well, which many built-in one-button streaming features for Netflix, Disney+, Hult, etc. I mounted the TV to a wall using a bracket and that went well also. The picture is good, but not amazing (though for it's size, at 40", looks just fine unless you're really close to the TV.) Its biggest flaw, in my opinion, are the TV's speakers, which sound muffled right from the start. This is in part due to the factory sound setting, which you can alter easily within the TV's menus. I found a sound setting that cleared up and brightened the dialogue, which helps. I bought this TV for a guest room in our house. I would not consider this a great TV for a living room but it's just fine for occasional use in a small room. Price was good and shipping was quick and there was no damage from shipping.

Love my new tv

I moved into a 55 Senior apt building. My apt is 393 sq feet. This is the perfect size. Beautiful picture. Lets you do adjustments on the picture. I always tone down the color because for me it looks more natural. I dont like the blaring color. Love my tv.

Love this 40” 4K Vizio. Bought it as a computer monitor and I'm not disappointed. It's big enough to run four programs, one in each quadrant but not too big to give you strained eyes or headaches. The closest size monitor was $80 more and only 32”. Retuned every monitor for my new work from home setup since none compare to this. My only regret is that I didn't consider this option sooner.

High-Performance TV at a Great Price

You wouldn't expect to get true 4k, 120Hz, HDR performance in a 40" television and certainly not at this price but Visio has done it and it lives up to their claims. Plenty of connectivity and the "smart" features are more than good enough. So, the size and price are right for a kid's room but the quality and performance mean it could easily be your primary television.

Hard to Calibrate Colors, poor backlight!

The only reason I am ‘thinking' of keeping this tv is for the built in smart apps. Otherwise, I'd return it die sure. The ‘default' settings for color are horrible. And, after trying multiple combinations of settings... I have come to the conclusion that it's just not that good... Colors also ‘bleed'.

Excellent FOR THE MONEY, minor quirks

I don't think you could buy a better TV anywhere for the price. It has a good menu, attractive design, and vivid colors with plenty of advanced adjustments. It even has both analog (RCA) and digital (TOSLINK) audio outputs for those of us who still use a component system for audio. On the other hand, the viewing angle is extremely narrow. You can still see the picture, but the colors wash way out, and it happens quickly as the angle increases. Additionally, the auto-off function doesn't work when using a USB drive to view video when the folder is completed and it returns to the menu. The quality of this unit is far better than the LG we have in our living room. That TV will be soon replaced with a Vizio.

I looked around and found this was the best TV for my money. I've had it 2 months now and very pleased. Especially like all the apps included with it. Some of my friends have Roku and this VIZIO is WAY BETTER! It's easy to input the channels, go to previous channel, etc. Instead of just scrolling constantly. Highly Recommend.

Streaming is spotty

TV has great picture and clarity. Small speaker delivers great sound. Very moderate size in terms of presents in an average size room. The brags tube would be the streaming. We placed out TV right next to our router and we will get reduced function from the TV in terms of content and basic functions in navigation. Decent buy, just not to impressed with the Visio brand.

Problems connecting with apps

Even after working with Vizio support I could not connect to prime video or Netflix. Traded the 1st tv for another one. It did the same thing. Bought a different brand and it linked to the internet and apps instantly. Last year I bought a different model of Vizio and it works perfectly

Bad Vizio TV

Vizio used to be a good tv. Not the 40 inch 4K Vizio I bought. The picture is very inconsistent . It would be clear and color good then change to be cloudy. The sound doesn't match up with the actors mouth, if that makes any sense. I cannot recommend this tv.
