screen turns black.

I bought it three months ago and a few weeks into it, the screen started going black with no sound. I could tell it was turned on but with a black screen. Wouldn't respond to any buttons on the remote or on the tv but would be fine if unplugged and plugged back in. I was okay with that because it didn't happen too often but now it goes to the smart screen in the middle of watching over the air channels on its own. I've had Vizio TVs before and loved them and maybe I just got a glitchy one this time.

Major Disappointment

The right size for our bedroom & moveable wall mount. After spending time on a ladder removing our old Toshiba TV and mounting the 40 inch Vizio - could not get it past the first setup step, choose language. Went to the web for troubleshooting, found help but did not work. Contacted Vizio support, directed us through all the same steps. Declared the TV stuck in demo/store mode and the remote dead. Vizio sent a new remote which was dead on arrival. Enough, returned the TV directly to Sam's Club. This was my first purchase of a Vizio product.

A cheap TV that doesn't live up to its description

Having never had any experience with Vizio before I relied solely on specs prior to purchasing it... When it arrived I learned a lesson about not buying into bug words, such as "hdr", "full array" and other catchy, techy, juicy words people in marketing like to use. I will try to explain why I'm so disappointed as best as I can: the TV is way too dark, the colors are all wrong, it's very slow, the remote is very bad and difficult to use, the setup is nearly unfathomable and the menus are not well thought-out. In more detail: The negatives: 1) three is something wrong with color reproduction on this TV!!! Trying to calibrate it manually, replacing HDMI chords and adjusting all possible settings doesn't help... No matter what you do the colors end up looking washed-out and/or plain wrong. 2) despite Vizio's claims this TV does NOT have HDR! Its simply not bright enough, not reaching even 220 lumens at its peak setting. Windows sees it as an 8 but panel, hdr movies look the same as non-hdr, basically, no matter what Walmart and Vizio say about how clever this TV is, my 6 year old, super-basic 32" Samsung looks ten times better and four times brighter. 3) the setup is very tedious, the TV also turns off when it wants to, from time to time. It takes a long time for it to warm up and finally turn on, takes a long time to install updates... Not that I expected anything different but, again, my old Samsung works a lot better, even though it's a lot older. 4) the remote is not a quality item, it's a bit too cramped and as intuitive as the rest of this tv's menus. The positives: 1)This TV has 802.11ac (wifi 5) fast wireless connection 2) Netflix, amazon prime and bunch of other stuff built in, also has free TV with hundreds of channels (with commercials) 3) Has air play and all types of streaming services built in as well 4) offers Dolby Vision (that doesn't seem to do anything but still) and does 120hz at 1080p resolution, which would be great for gaming if it was brighter... The way it is now its difficult to play anything when it's light out. 5)has three hdmi ports, usb ports and all other stuff normally reserved for more expensive tv's All and all its not a bad TV if you ONLY have abiht ~$250 to spend, tax included. But, if I were you, id save up another few hundred dollars and buy a 32 inch qled Samsung, a MUCH better alternative with a much better screen... Because a screen is what really matters in a TV, which is something this TV lacks.

Great budget tv with all gadgets

I used this TV as a computer monitor and though it isnt 120hz, it has plenty of video settings to make my graphics pop. I have a Ethernet cable going in but the TV was only wanting WiFi for some reason during the setup, No biggie. I can stream shows on this tv and keep my work up on my other monitors. Good price for what u get.

Don't buy vizio

Don't buy a vizio, they suck. I have 2. The sound is delayed and it randomly kicks you out of the apps like hulu, youtube, etc. They are aware of the sound issues, and the warranty says it has no liability for the app issues

Sold used Tv as new

I purchased what I thought was a new Samsung TV from Sam's club upon opening the box I realized that the remote already had the batteries installed and all of the cords were undone. When I powered the TV up it was already registered under someone else's name. I called Sam's Club to complain nothing was done.

Mother's Day Gift from the Kids

Just finish redoing the master bedroom; mounted and hooked up the TV on 5/21/21, Seems like a great picture and a lot of features. Will have to go through and see what is what. Nice having 3 HDMIs and pre-loaded apps for streaming services. We current use some of them so easier to watch with one button selection for Prime, Hulu, Netflix, Disney and even had some Free to watch service. Will give update in 30 days see if it is still the same. The price and size was what caught the kids attention; but I bought the extend warranty to play it safe (never owned a Vizio).

Easy Setup

so, so good. dont like the volume control when coupled with my home theater system. Like most things computerized you lose control of what you are used to doin for yourself. Overall glad i purchased a smart tv being I am retired and spend a lot of time at home I now more options of what is available.

Best 40" TV for the Price

Purchased for my daughter as we already have the 65" version. This is the best 4K TV for the money hands down. Sharp blacks and vivid colors. Easy set-up and great support when needed. Fast access to all streaming services through the remote. 1 inconvenience is boot-up/shutdown. Takes about 10-20 seconds to boot up and connect to wifi or shutdown. Not instant on/off but I think that's an issue with nearly all smart TV's today.
