Not what I expected

After a lot of research I thought we were buying a good product. However in my opinion, the wood is poor quality, the instruction manual was difficult to fallow and the hardware was mislabeled and some hardware was not included. However we bought the proper hardware and assembled the play set anyways. The monkey bars are a big disappointment, the picnic table bench bent when my 45 lb 5yr old sat on it and the door wont stay shut cause the hinges are cheap and already bent after one day use. Guess I'm stuck with it now, learned my lesson very well.

My 2 year old loves it once we finally got it put together. Instruction manual had 2 pages ripped out of both English & Spanish versions, so we had to call & get a PDF version emailed to us. Took about 16 hrs to assemble. Good quality though & she is loving playing on it daily!

Saratoga Cedar Swing/play set

Please be advised this play set is not partially put together, I had to hire a handyman and the two men took over 12 hours to complete and set up the swing set. Many parts and directions are not easily read. Bench on side is only made for a child to sit on not an adult . Grandbaby 3 years loves it and can use all except the bars that are made for alilttle older child, 6 year old can use the bars easily.

Decent Quality Great Price

Git this for our Granddaughters 2nd birthday. Took 2 of us about 12 hrs to complete the assembly. Direction were good but you have to pay close attention especially with all the different lengths in bolts. If you have basic skills you'll be fine. Both people doing the assembly should each have a cordless drill and have a fully charge backup battery. Make assembly much faster. Overall a nice product.

Great product but complex

Product is good quality & will give us many years of fun. Purchased for my grandson & his little brother on the way, he enjoyed a full day of play on it as soon as it was completed. Once inventory was completed, with a very detailed packing list, assembly began. within an hour, my son in law & I, determined that the instructions needed to be more detailed, being very vague at points & not having clearly marked sizes of bolts to be used for certain steps. took a little getting used to but he completed it a day & a half later. Be patient & reread the instructions to make sure you get the right bolts to assemble.

Great playset

Great playset in the end. Truly needs larger pictures in the instructions. Need at least 2 people to put it together. One needs to be able to read directions, be organized and patient. The second needs to be the muscle. It took us about 18 hours to put together.

Great design...poor structure

The Good: While it's very time-consuming just because of the sheer number of parts and pieces of wood, assembly is very easy. Everything is marked very well and all of the drilled holes matched up perfectly. For someone like me who does some word-working on the side, you appreciate this aspect when assembling something this large. My daughter really enjoys the slide, the monkey bars, and the little house with the door. The design of the set is really well-done, in my opinion. The Bad: I second everything that Kristie R reported. I bought this set a year ago and the main beam supporting the swings is now cracked and sounds like it's going to break when my daughter swings on one of the swings by herself (she's a 35 lb 4 yr old). I've now told her that she's not allowed to swing too high until I replace the beam with something stronger. And I don't allow more than 1 child to swing at a time. If I allowed as many kids to swing on my set as there are in the picture above these reviews, I'm 100% certain the beam would snap. I'd say that outside of the main center structure, none of the wood is thick enough to be completely safe. I plan on replacing the beam holding the swings, as well as the support structure on the left that holds the beam. And I'm going to do the same on the right with the monkey bars as well, as they do quite a bit of creaking when my daughter hangs on them (and as I said above, she's not a large child by any means). I'll also be reinforcing the table and bench in the back, b/c both of those aren't supported well at all. Overall: It's a shame the wood they provided is flimsy, b/c the design of the set it great. But I can't recommend that anyone purchase this set as it's currently set up. If Backyard Discovery remedies that, then the product would be great.

The set was fairly easy to assemble. Must read Directions and look at pictures very carefully. Not all of the pre-drilled holes are exactly where they should be but not a big deal. It was not as big as expected. Everything seems to be of good quality. The kids Love it!!!!!!

Perfect backyard developmental activities!

My husband and I bought this for our children a month after covid hit for our 2 small kids. I was also pregnant with our 3rd at the time, so it was the perfect thing to keep our kids entertained and busy while trying to work from home. The monkey bars have also helped them with their strength, coordination, and confidence. Highly recommend!

Good looking - Good value

Full disclosure - I got this on sale, $200 off so I think that adds a little more to my satisfaction level. It's only been up for 5 days so I can't comment on how long it will last but its sturdy enough for young children. I bought it for my 2 1/2 yr old granddaughter. I don't think I'd buy it for older kids -- max age of 5 or 6. My 2 1/2 yr old granddaughter can safely get up and down the ladder, the slide doesn't get hot, she loves the playhouse downstairs, the fort upstairs, picnic table on the back for tea parties - and its covered! My ONLY complaint is the monkey bars. They are actually geared for older kids -- maybe that was the rationale -- something for all ages but I feel like by the time she's old enough for the monkey bars she will have outgrown the rest of the set. Love that it's staked down not cemented in place. I looked at many different sets at many different places and this was just right!
