[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The tv was great until the last update. No it won't turn on or off the smart cast is dead. I had to factory wipe it and disconnect the internet from the tv just so it will turn on and off. Once it's allowed to update it's just a blue screen and unresponsive. You have to plug or unplug it to use it. The update bricked the tv completely.

We purchased our VIZIO with lots of input from those who would turn their noses up to such a brand. Without a doubt, we have nothing but the highest praise and gratitude for an actual product that is not only affordable, but performs with great quality. Thank you

Has lots of features and provides a nice picture. However, occasionally it can go completely blank, or else the picture becomes "squashed" vertically, at least for live OTA TV. I have to unplug it, wait a few seconds, then plug it back in to fix this. Not reassuring for the long haul. On the other hand, the SmartCast feature is awesome, and firmware updates seem to add new apps, for example for AppleTV+ --and thanks for that! The remote allows you to enter a TV channel directly, which is becoming a rarity these days. The "previous channel" button on the remote is also handy to switch back and forth between two channels to duck ads, etc. However, a glaring omission on the remote is a "Live TV" button, so you can immediately return to the last viewed TV channel when either streaming, on some other input, or somewhere in the Home app/SmartCast world. Instead, you must press "Input", then press either the left or right key to see the name of the TV channel, then select/press that. Vizio should work to add this capability in the remote.

I have been a fan of the brand for about 10 years. I just had to retire my first Vizio i purchased in 2009. It was a 47in, my first flat screen. This TV is replacing that one because my son broke his TV so we gave him the 47 and upgraded to this 55in. Great picture and sound! Love it.

There are plenty of station features, which is good. But, while the price was inviting, the picture quality is far from adequate. It's like stepping back into a time machine before high definition dominated the market. Colors are not rich and sharpness is... well how should I say... dismal at best and horrible at worst.

I bought this TV for a secondary room, so I didn't need the top of the line model. I have the Vizio M50 in my den for primary watching and it's a great TV. But I cannot tell the difference between the M50 and the V505 other than the $200 in my pocket. Save some cash and get this TV.

We were looking to upgrade our TV to something a little larger and more modern. The Vizio not only fit our space perfectly, but its built in stand was tall enough to allow for clearance of our sound bar and avoid using a universal stand that took up a lot of space around our entertainment center. The video quality is fantastic (as far as I can tell) and we have the audio run through our receiver and it sounds noticeably better than our previous TV. In addition, the set up was intuitive and simple. I have poor vision and the quality of the display is fantastic. I can actually read it when a show has text messages as part of the dialogue or expects you to read a hand written note. That was impossible on our previous TV. I would highly recommend this TV to anyone.

Caught it on sale. Beautiful clear image. So many built-in features(Smart play, AirPlay) and it feels like I'm in a movie house. Watching sports now feels like an event.Like that, I can actually use it as a huge computer monitor with Apple Airplay when showing software instructions. No more crowding around the desktop monitor. Very satisfied!

Our children got us the 70-inch TV for our home! We had not owned a smart TV before! Wow, wow, and wow! The TV fits perfectly over our viewing mantle, and the colors just are incredible. It's much smarter than we are, and are learning more every day! Our kiddo's did good!!! :)
