“New” Bounty Paper Towels
LeeLee74 wrote exactly as I feel. I've used Bounty forever. Love the select a size. I frequently tear it in half for little water clean ups, to use as a napkin, use as a kleenex. It no longer tears in half. A small triangular useless piece tears off. It is no longer soft. I have no idea if it's more absorbing. If I have a big spill, I'll use a cloth towel. These towels no longer qualify as a usable paper towel for me.

They have changed
Noticed right away that my bounty towels were changed. I have always bought bounty and Charmin. The paper towels are like cheap paper towels no where near what they were and the Charmin ultra soft isn't so soft anymore. what are you doing to what were good products? I guess it is time to switch brands, no sense paying premium prices for a inferior product.

Downgraded Quality
I guess Bounty thought they could fool us with the downgraded quality of thinner, less absorbent paper towels. Nope, we noticed. Just charge us a little more for the same product we were used to, but don't downgrade quality this way. It isn't a savings if we have to use twice as many for the same purpose.

The last change we made to our paper towels was in February 2021, when we upgraded them so that they now trap and lock messes even faster. As well, they feature a new emboss. Changed for the worse. No longer worth the extra cost.
I just have to laugh reading these replies from Bounty, such as this: "We'd like to mention that in February 2023, we upgraded our paper towels so that they deliver improved absorbency. They have a clothlike look and texture to enable messes to be picked up more quickly & completely." In fact, this package I have just bought (in March) shows the exact opposite. These towels used to be soft, absorbent, sturdy, and even reusable--as in while cleaning a big mess, you could ring them out (even rinse them) and keep using them. Now they are stiff, rough paper... not "cloth-like" in the least. A long time ago, I tried out the "Essentials" in place of the Select-A-Size. I didn't like them and decided to keep spending the extra money to have a nicer paper towel that worked so well. It was worth the extra cost. What you have sold me this time is worse than the Essentials used to be, which makes me wonder what you have done to those at this point in time. Come on now. I've used this brand for decades, even when finances were extremely tight, and you've lost me.

Why the change in texture?
I have used Bounty my entire life due to it being a high quality product. What happened suddenly? The last two packs I have purchased have been a disappointment. The towels are so rough and poor quality. It's worse than any generic brand. Why did you change the texture. I am forced to buy a different brand now.

Change in product 09/03/2022
I have been using bounty paper towels forever the product has been great untill my last purchase the paper towels are now super thin very rough and not absorbent at all I have been paying a premium price to buy the paper towel product that I liked unfortunately I will have to change to a different product since the quality has dropped so suddenly and the price of the towels has probably increased rather than came down with the lesser product very disappointing the packaging all the same no info saying they changed the towels but they are about the quality of the bounty basic now but I buy the regular because I do not like the quality of the bounty basic either very very sad

Quality Change
I have been using Bounty for decades. We had Bounty in my house growing up too. It was the best on the market for absorbency, softness and holding together when wet. Sometime after Covid, there was a quality change. The towels are thinner, feel cheap and scratchy and tear in half when you try to rip them on the perforated line. If I didn't know better I'd think I was using a generic grocery store brand. I didn't accidentally buy the Essentials line either. Very disappointed in Bounty. I understand wanting to keep the product affordable during an inflationary economy, but don't sacrifice quality. I'd rather pay a little more for the same good quality. After all these years of being a loyal Bounty customer, I'm now on the hunt for a new paper towel brand.

Sometimes Newer is Just Newer (…and Not Better)
Bounty was one of the few brands our household *never* compromised on, even during soaring inflation costs. It's also the brand I brought to my workplace—a public library—for the most delicate to messy cleaning tasks. While my commitment to the product—despite the price—has remained unwavering, the company appears to have fallen for gimmicks and inferior materials. The “web-like” texture is scratchy, stiff, and not as absorbent as its classic weave, and the sheets are thinner and do not hold up as they have in the past. This is the first time I have ever researched a standard “household supply” to post a review, and I do so to let other consumers know that, “Yes; something has changed about that terrific roll of Bounty you used to reach for,” and “No; you're not alone in your experience.” Procter & Gamble…do better. Fix this. Sometimes newer is just newer…and you've messed with a classic.

Doesn't tear well anymore
The last several packages of select-a-size paper towel rolls have left me frustrated and disappointed. I always chose Bounty because of its consistent performance. But there has been a noticeable change to them and they no longer tear consistently on my vertical roll holder. Most times it leaves a large “tail” torn off the bottom of the sheet. It still has the absorbency but both characteristics are important to me as a user. I want a complete towel, not scraps of paper. Grrr.

Bad new Size for Select a Size rolls
I bought the new select-a-size Bounty paper towel rolls. The larger size of each piece is terrible. It is too big. I liked having a smaller paper towel to clean up, or dry spills, or dry my hands. I will now start to look for a better brand paper towel. I hope Bounty will consider going back to the smaller size paper towel like before.
