I have the shoks open

I have the shoks open run and now that I have the open run pro.the second generation are much better. Open run proThe volume is not better sound , it doesn’t tell you when messages coming or incoming emails ! So what is so good about them? You made them shorter to cut materials!the technology is less ! Then they are more expensive!

Sub-standard (worst) audio quality on Mac

I bought the headphones since the were promoted with "Premium Sound Quality" and compatibility with Mac. Unfortunately, there are two very disappointing showstoppers (in a nutshell version): - the headphone mutes automatically when connecting to the mac (mitigation described below) - the headphone mutes itself in the middle of calls spontaneously (mitigation described below) - the audio quality is really sub-standard when using the mic (Shokz know, but not interested/able to fix it) --- Long version: Muting when connecting to Mac: An "Aggregation Device" with the openrun pro >mic< needs to be created in the "Audio Midi Setup". This will mitigate the issue. Random Muting Issue: The Shokz support pointed me to a 3rd party chrome plugin which disables the "automatic gain control" in chrome. Unfortunately, not every application provides such an option, so the random muting continues when using these applications. Search for "Disable Automatic Gain Control" by Joey Watts in the Chrome Web Store. Audio Quality: After several rounds with the Shokz support I got now a mail saying that they are aware about the audio issues with MacBooks but not interested or able to fix it. If i'd like to use the headset it with a Mac and want to have better audio quality, I'd should go and buy another of their headphones - the OpenComm UC. This comes with an USB plug, which is not acceptable when buying a bluetooth headset. It's 2022, not 1990. A macbook air comes with 2 usb ports, and I'm not going to block one of them permanently to use a bluetooth headset. If you manually select the laptops built-in mic, the audio quality "magically" becomes good. So it's simply a bug they're declining to fix.

I HATE having things in

I HATE having things in my ears. They usually don't fit, and are uncomfortable after a while. Shokz have been the answer. Comfortable, I can hear the room noise and doorbell if I need to, or wear headphones to hear when I'm mowing the lawn. Good sound. Good battery life. Easy charging. I have minis. Would like to see more fun colors. I have several Shokz, so I can use another set while one is charging. Once I had these, I never went back to my previous headphones. We're going steady.

I purchased the OpenRun Pro.

I purchased the OpenRun Pro. I needed something i could wear and still be able to be aware of my surroundings. They sound and fit great. There is only one thing that I don't like. Is the charging method. I don't like the proprietary cable. I wish it used a type c usb cable so that i can charge it anywhere without worrying about the one and only charging cable it cam with.

No way

First of all, I got the small ones, but they are still way too big. They are awkward to use and slip to the back of my head and just feel weird on. It is very difficult to know where to push the button to answer the phone etc. It’s just a poor design and I can’t stand them. I’m gonna be sending them back.

Smaller size, bigger boom, better battery!

My 3rd set of AfterShokz / Shokz. Each set lasted past the two year warranty with near everyday wear. This time the upgrade in battery life, coupled with the smaller size of the mini were both desired features. The smaller band doesn't get caught in my jacket collar or hats and the bass has been much improved! I've been dealing with tinnitus, related to military service, for many years. I use the Shokz to help by keeping music in the background. I can keep the volume low, like the music in stores, (in the background). A quick touch w/ my left finger pauses/mutes the sound in most apps so you can focus on a coworker or an announcement or anything else in your surroundings. Works well while wearing earplugs in noisy environments. Did I mention this is the 3rd set, I've purchased, in about 6 or 7 yrs.

They are so quiet compared

They are so quiet compared to my last pair of Shokz. I was really hoping for an upgrade and I feel these missed the mark. What I do like about them are how much lighter in weight they are compared to my old pair. If I would have known how quiet they would be I wouldn’t have purchased them.

No USB-C

I've bought every model of Aftershokz/Shokz headphone that has come out in the last 5 years. The headphones are generally great, but the most massive day-to-day usability issue is that these have a proprietary magnetic connector instead of just using USB-C, and to add insult to injury, the other end of the proprietary connector is still USB-A. This isn't 2016 any more, no one wants to have a dedicated charger for one special device. An easy solution here would be to let this charge over USB-C and include a magnetic adapter that people can choose to use or lose, and as backup they can still use the universal charging standard. Or figure out how to squeeze wireless charging coils in somehow. This is just a bad solution.

I tried a pair of

I tried a pair of the Trekz Air that my sister had before buying these. The OpenRun Pro feel better in pretty much every way and I'm totally in love. I've yet to be in a position where I've need to worry about a charge despite using them pretty constantly throughout my work day.

Excellent sound quality and good fit

I really enjoy the high sound quality of my OpenRun Pro headset. I got the "mini" (smaller) version, and like how it fits more snugly and stays in place better than the previous OpenRun headset I had, which was the regular size and just a bit to big for me size-wise.
