Quality Convenience Safety

Love my Shokz! This is my second pair. My fiancé adopted my first pair 😉 The safety of hearing what’s going on around me and at other times the simply convenience of having a headset without the discomfort of an in-earbud are great for me! The sound quality is fantastic!!! Friends that have hearing issues have been brought to tears over what they can hear with my Shokz… amazing!!!

Sooo Comfortable and clear

I can’t believe how these sound so good going through your jaw! It’s like listening to an exterior speaker in the room and you’re still able to hear people clearly. They can’t even hear a thing from then. So long to earbuds falling out or your ears getting smashed when leaning against a chair or window like on a plane. I can also wear glasses and headbands with no interference. I love the easy start/stop button. I’ll never use any other type!

Open Run Pro

Like the awareness you have with these headphones. I had the titanium model from about 4 years ago. These are a significant update as they have multi point Bluetooth. Sound is richer than the titanium. Voice calls are much improved. I have yet to try them on my bike the ultimate test. I recommend them to cyclists and runners. Regular in ear headphones are just too dangerous.

Next-Level safety gear, A must-have for field engineers.

I have the Aeropex model, and will soon be ordering the OpenRun Pro's. If you're a fitness fanatic then look at other reviews. I service equipment in the field, which means I may be in the middle of a diesel engine repair shop, warehouse, or someone's home. I used to carry earbuds, but my ears no longer tolerate them. Earbuds block most external sound. You can't hear that fork lift that's about to put a fork through your spine because he's watching the pallet, not his forks. WIth Bone Conduction you can hear in 360 degrees, and relay from your phone contact to an in-person contact flawlessly, without worrying about the nearby person over-hearing the incoming speech. It's the ultimate in security and safety! I used to like my over-ear headphones but the over the head support messes up my hair, or worse, traps it and pulls it out upon removal. No such problem with the behind the back of the head design. The sound control is excellent, it's easy to turn down the sound from the unit, to better hear your environment, WITHOUT losing comprehension of the phone conversation. It's like a one-way speakerphone. Your phone contact can hear someone close to you, but you have to relay the conversation from the phone contact to the person nearby. Great security and you can translate at will, especially helpful when the other end of the phone call isn't a native language speaker. They also coexist perfectly with eyewear. I haven't had any eye-protection or glasses that don't work well with these units. Flaws: Some music or voices will cause a 'tickling' sensation. Depending on the thickness of your skin/subdermal lipid layer, this may be problematic during long hold-times with a male voice-over. For the price, I would appreciate a case that also serves as a battery backup/charger. The included magnetic USB cable is great, but when you're traveling it's not exactly convenient to turn off then plug in your connection to the world. I would prefer to be able to charge while using the unit. My Aeropex shut down when connected to the charging cable. Comfort: for me the Aeropex is very comfortable. It's only troublesome when you're wearing a hoodie, as the rear support piece can catch on higher collar shirts/coats/jackets/jumpers. We're required to wear collared shirts, as white-glove field engineers.

I HATE having things in

I HATE having things in my ears. They usually don't fit, and are uncomfortable after a while. Shokz have been the answer. Comfortable, I can hear the room noise and doorbell if I need to, or wear headphones to hear when I'm mowing the lawn. Good sound. Good battery life. Easy charging. I have minis. Would like to see more fun colors. I have several Shokz, so I can use another set while one is charging. Once I had these, I never went back to my previous headphones. We're going steady.

No USB-C

I've bought every model of Aftershokz/Shokz headphone that has come out in the last 5 years. The headphones are generally great, but the most massive day-to-day usability issue is that these have a proprietary magnetic connector instead of just using USB-C, and to add insult to injury, the other end of the proprietary connector is still USB-A. This isn't 2016 any more, no one wants to have a dedicated charger for one special device. An easy solution here would be to let this charge over USB-C and include a magnetic adapter that people can choose to use or lose, and as backup they can still use the universal charging standard. Or figure out how to squeeze wireless charging coils in somehow. This is just a bad solution.

I am pretty disappointed with

I am pretty disappointed with my purchase. I was expecting true Bone conduction, when I in fact these have small speakers in front of your ear. There is virtually no base from this product unless you purchase an aftermarket EQ app. The connection hoop is way too long and gets caught up in every from hats, hoods, to pillows watching your favorite show.

Workout/gym review

Ngl, was a little skeptical since I had zero experience with these type of headphones but to have the ability to hear outside of the music playing was something that I was very interested in. I bought the newest model, from the reviews I read it just makes sense to start from the top because in most cases of it doesn’t hold up to your expectations, chances are the lesser of its product line wouldn’t either. Music. It plays well, you can hear all the instruments, vocals, nothing is let behind. The bass seems to be the weakest link but understanding it’s whole purpose of its nature, it is acceptable and doesn’t throw the music off or feels inadequate because of the bass. There is definitely room for improvement and from the looks of its history, they are here to improve its quality so that is a huge plus. Outside noise/sounds. Question is, can you hear and understand the sounds outside of the headphones itself? After all that is the whole point of this development. Short answer, yes, yes you can. Your volume with dictate how well can you hear outside of that. Even when you have the volume loud, you can still here noises and voices if they are close to you. Understanding what is being said may not be that easy. Again, if you have it loud enough that you can hear your music over noise you can certainly understand what others are saying to you. If anything you are aware of what is going on and I feel that is the whole point of this style. With over the ears or ear buds you are really isolated from your surroundings and usually needs a tap on the shoulder to get your attention. Ease of use. Right? We don’t want things complicated or have to memorize pages of info to navigate your headset. This is cut and dry and basically does pretty much what you want to do when you working out. Volume/power buttons (only 2) on your right ear, left ear has one button that does 1,2 or 3 clicks and that’s it. You want more, use your phone otherwise you wouldn’t want more than this. Cons. The only thing that really comes to mind aside from what I mentioned earlier is their special usb charging cable. It would be nice if they provided 2 cables, however I do wished the cable itself was a foot longer. You would still be able to fit it in the case easily. Results. Yes Yes Yes! By understand it’s purpose and that is what you are looking for, you will be happy and pleased with these headphones. Easy to put on and take off, comes with a great case and a charging cable, smooth operation, navigation is simple and effective. Battery life is great and the produced sounds are above par. Super happy with these!

Truly the best

I purchased this and the gen prior to this and they are frankly the best headphones I have. I love the open ear concept for both safety and general awareness. I have Bose and yes, the sound quality is excellent on those, but the convenience, quality, awareness, comfort, and battery life on these make them my first choice.

Can’t imagine running in anything else!

Battery life lasts for several days worth of runs, super comfortable, no issues with slipping/rubbing on even long hot runs, love being able to hear around me and have conversations with running partners! Even great for answering phone calls that come in during a run. Love these so much, never going back to other running headphones!
