It's a bit tough with 5 dogs but it's growing nonetheless. It was easy to spread. Make sure you loosen up the soil a bit with a rack before spreading.

I spread the seed out and watered (very infrequently as we've been having a lot of summer pop up rain showers lately. After a few weeks I noticed new growth. I was surprised since it was pretty hard ground. There were just a few patchy places which I will reseed but I am overall thrilled to have grass growing in this area again.

I needed the grass to fill in some bare spots in the south facing part of my yard. The seed came in June and, normally, I would not think early summer in North Central Texas would be the ideal time to plant grass seed. However, this was part of a promotion so I needed to try the product within a specified period of time. There was rain in the forecast for a week around the 9th of June so we decided to try it. Part of my yard is on an incline and the grass seed washed away so there is somewhat of a learning curve to putting the seed out. We had fantastic results from the rest of the yard and it is hard to even tell where we put it out now. The package indicates it is not really for shady spots but we even tried it under a tree where we pulled up a flower bed that was completely bare. The spot is in the shade until mid-afternoon and the grass even came up in that spot. I can't wait until it cools off a bit to purchase more seed to fill in some spots that we didn't get to yet!

In fact, that whole area of the yard was just a sorely neglected muddy mess. Fast forward 30 days, and we now have lush green grass where there used to be nothing but dirt! I'll admit-I wasn't the most consistent when it came to watering (maybe once a day, if that), but I did take the time to break up the soil well before sowing. That was definitely the toughest part, thanks to our wonderful Arkansas red clay, but I think it made a big difference. I'm pleased enough with the results that I'll be picking up a few more bags to tackle the bare spots in the front yard next!

Upon receiving the grass seed, I was very pleased with the packaging as it was very well made and sturdy and no risk of it easily tearing. However, trying to open the bag was another story. I wish there was a simple way to open the bag instead of having to use scissors or a knife. The directions for preparing the ground and applying the seeds was very simple and straightforward. Anyone could easily use this and get great results. I applied the grass seed to bare patches in my yard and gave it a month to have enough time to start growing. The results for me were mixed a bit. I expected to have a lot more growth than I had but it could maybe have been affected by all of the summer thunderstorms we have been getting nearly daily. I did see some growth so the product does what it is supposed to, I just wish there was more growth than what I actually had.

I took a rake and cleared the area of leaves and such - then I took the seeds and sowed them all over the bare areas!
