Unfortunate storm

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] We've not had the best luck with Oklahoma weather lately. The reason I even wanted this grass seed is because we had a crazy storm take down the giant 60+ year old tree we had in our backyard which left a big bare spot where the grass would never grow underneath that tree. This grass seed was so easy to spread, and the prep work was minimal and also quite simple - would have been more so had we not needed to clean up all the remaining sawdust from the tree cleanup process. I watered the area twice a day as we're in the thick of summer and the heat definitely required it. Unfortunately, only two days into this process we had another crazy storm come through with extremely heavy rain that was not predicted to hit our area. This storm washed out that whole area... I've not seen a single grass blade sprout and I've waited now for two weeks. Maybe I'm anticipating it to happen too early, but I'm worried that's not the case. Even still, I'm giving this product a higher rating as everything leading up to this disaster was fabulous and so easy. Clear instructions and quick to follow. I'm certain I'd have grass right now if I'd laid it down after the rain came, had I known it were coming.

They mixed Bermuda and a type of rye grass

This product did wonders for my yard

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Using a rake, I scratched up the surface, soaked it in water, put down the grass seeds, and watered every day.

Slow Growth in the Midwest

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] My husband and I spread this early spring and it seems to be growing rather slowly so far. Hard to tell yet how well it will cover but like most loose seed, be careful to overwater because it will wash the seeds away before they are established and will cause uneven and clumpy coverage.

Hi Runningkat, Thank you for your review. We are sorry to hear that you had issues when planting the grass seed. Our seed is rigorously tested for germination to ensure that it is only high quality grass seed in our products. Grass seed can take 7 to 14 days provided that the soil temperature is warm enough to support germination. If the weather has not been consistently warm germination can take longer. Please reach out to discuss your experience with Customer Service at 1-800-285-7333 for more assistance.

Didn't grow, but a rage temp was 114 degrees

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Recorded off a little 10x10 area in the backyard and applied the seam, watering it several times a day for about 2 weeks. During this time it is the heat of the summer in Phoenix, and several days at record-breaking Heat. I'm not sure if that contributed to it I watered it during the day and even through the night to keep the soil moist but it would dry out in between waterings completely. I've used this seed before very successfully, but this time it was not to be. I think this would work better in the spring when we have cooler temperatures and get established before the heat arrives.
