It makes sheets of ice instead of individual cubes and seems very inefficient. Not super impressed. Gotta bust up the sheet of ice by hand to make a cold drink which is dumb. It seems to make more %26 hold more ice than the 26lb Frigidaire model that i had before which is what i wanted as i primarily wanted it to make ice to fill a big cooler for home butchering meat but i much preferred the bullet style ice for drinks. If this were a bullet style machine that made individual pieces of ice in an efficient manner %26 would stay on 24/7 till i turn it off then it would be 100% better. As is it's just ok. Got it on clearance with a damaged box so it was a good price so i can't complain too much though. It does what i want for filling coolers and it does make ice that with a little effort keeps a drink cold.

The idea of having another appliance living in the city is brutal, however I was pleasantly surprised at how compact the Frigidaire 40lbs Compact Clear Square Ice Marker-Stainless Steel was. Counter space and storage come at a premium in a city, but so is refrigerator and freezer space. I do not have a built in ice maker in my fridge and I also do not have a lot of space in my freezer for ice trays. Walking to the store and carrying home 5 lb bags of ice is also not ideal. This is a great alternative to all the above. The set up was quick and straight forward. Filling the ice maker with water was super easy and the electronic LED controls were simple to operate. I was impressed at how quickly the first tray of ice was formed - it was less than 15 minutes. It was also entertaining to watch. Almost like magic. The basket held a lot of ice. The quality of the ice was great as well. The ice cubes were very clear in color and square in shape. On top of all the great features, the machine was very quiet while it was running. The stainless steel body of the machine also matches great with my kitchen decor. I would highly recommend the Frigidaire, 40lb Compact Clear Square Ice Maker in Stainless Steel for anyone who is limited in space, owns a fridge lacking an ice maker, likes to host and not have to carry 40 lbs of ice home and likes clear, square quality ice cubes.

I like the clear ice cubes that melt slower than the air bubble-infused cubes from the competition. It's a plus that the icemaker has a larger daily production than most. The 1/2 gallon plus reservoir is enough, even if other units have a higher capacity. You have to periodically bag up the cubes anyway -- you can refill the water if needed -- during bagging. It seems like a quality piece of equipment but have only had it for a short time. So far really pleased.

After 7 months the machine wouldn't drop ice so it continues to form into a huge solid chunk. I loved this machine sooo much... I did buy the warranty but walmart says it should still be covered by the manufacturer's warranty. Good luck finding a number to contact them. It makes plenty of ice 😅😅 ( no pun intended) but trying to get in touch with someone is almost non-existent

Like: It works great! Right out of the box. I let it sit for a few hours stationary to allow coolants to settle \n prior to starting my unit as other reviewers stated. \n Cubes are clear and it cycles in less than 30 minutes. No issues. \n\nDislike: Instructions could be more explicit with details. \n It does need to be in an area OPEN to allow air flow, not in a corner of counter.\n Water drain location isn't bad (on rear) but wish it had a(n) attachment for draining so I didn't \n have to lift and move the unit to the sink area. \n

I was reluctant to purchase this ice maker due to the varying reviews... But I've wanted a Clear Ice maker for a couple of years. So I finally bought one. It does make mostly clear ice. I was using just tap water and would say about 90 to 95% clear. It pumps out a cycle about every 20 mins. and it's pretty quiet. I got 7 harvests per fill. After every harvest I placed the ice in a ice bucket and gave a couple of taps to break up the slab into cubes and stored them in my freezer. For the money, I think it's a keeper.

This is a surprisingly high quality ice maker. At the same time that the stainless steel frame looks impressive, when you open the top lid you can see the ice being made as the water freezes into perfect cubes. Another big benefit of this ice maker is that it is extremely quiet, as we have not been bothered at all by any humming sound as the ice maker functions. Such a useful product to enhance any kitchen! I am writing this review as part of a contest.

I paid cash for this icemaker. it replaced an old cheaper ice maker that made 26 lbs of cloudy cubes per day.. this machine is far superior. it has a compressor that makes clear cubes with no air in them to cloud the cubes. cubes last 5x longer. you can use clean tap water but im rich so I use bottled water at .69 per gal. keeps the machine cleaner. when you get it let it sit for a few hours so the compressor fluids can level out in the unit. I set miy unit for big cubes(6) harvest cubes and but them in the freezer. in a plastic grocery bag. I slam the bag in mt stainless steel sink to break up any cubes that stick together. makes drinks that are restaurant quality.. cubes last 5x longer and don't water down drinks. if you use soda like coke or 7up it wont take the fizz out of the soda. follow directions for draining unit wnen not in use. this is a great product at a reasonable price.

This Ice Maker is amazing. I have struggled with a freezer that has not made ice for months and this has been a blessing from above. It produces restaurant quality ice from this compact clear square ice-maker. I love my Frigidaire so much that I stay hydrated all day so I can go home to have the best tasting ice at home after a long day. This stainless steal design is sheek and fits into the atmosphere of my trendy apartment. This ice maker simply makes my parties a chill event. This entry is a part of a review contest.

I was somewhat skeptical that this would product would produce what was advertised, but I tried it one day and I was impressed. It appears that if you remove ice every 2 hours you should be able to make 40 pounds. I made approx 10 pounds and was satisfied. Great machine! Thumbs up for me!
