Bought this as a gift for Mother's Day and was very excited when it came in just in time. However, I was extremely disappointed when I opened it and discovered that the unit was not only broken but also clearly used and very dirty. The window on the door had a large crack in the plastic from one end to the other. The sides of the machine were scratched and had had large dents in several places. From what I've seen in the comment sections apparently, this is a pretty common problem.

The Frigidaire Compact Clear Square Ice Maker is a high quality product and is an excellent addition to any kitchen, office, or dorm room. I love the stainless steel color which makes it look really sleek and matches with any room. It’s a little bigger than some of the other ice makers I’ve been looking at, which is great because it holds a larger capacity and makes up to 40 lbs of ice. It has a large clear window which makes it easy to see ice levels. Furthermore, its extremely quiet and won’t cause any loud disturbances like some other ice makers do. This Frigidaire ice maker gets to work quickly and makes square ice cubes in less than 15 minutes. I would especially recommend this for those who like to have entertain guests, because its much easier and more cost-efficient than buying bags of ice or using ice trays. It couldn’t be more convenient because it requires no installation and is really user friendly. I wish I had this in my dorm room in college! I would happily recommend this machine to anyone who wants to have fresh ice on hand. I am writing this review as part of a contest.

Damaged unit. The box didn’t seem to have been previously opened, but upon unboxing I found that the see through window is cracked, and while the protective film was in place and again it didn’t seem to have been used, there were various deep scratches and a dent on the side of the unit. For the price I paid I hope I can return or exchange this in store.

This Frigidaire stainless steel ice maker gets the job done. My fridge at home is very old (i mean very old) and the ice making section is barely functioning at all. I like how quick and simple it is to make the ice when I need it. It is also perfect for BBQ parties when you need to have ice for a large group of people. When I purchased this the first time off of the Walmart website and had it shipped site to store I bought a home and had a leak like a sieve. Now the second time I purchased it from my local Walmart store recently brought it home unpacked it and let it site for an hour. The second time around it worked like it was supposed to. There were no leaks at all and it makes ice as it should. I would recommend this to people, but I would recommend that you buy it in store, not use site to store. Would also say that as a back up to it leaking at any point, I have put it in a large cookie sheet.

I really like it We've only had it running for a week. So far its better then the smaller 26lb ice makers. It has more features. I can set it to freeze the cubes longer. Making them thicker (last longer) Which was a problem with the round ice cube makers. They always melted quicker. The only thing that makes a little inconvience. The ice comes out in sheets of cubes together. I make them ahead of time. Drop them in a zipper baggie. Break them up. Then put them in my ice bucket. Fingers crossed this one lasts longer. My last 3 round ice cube makers. Quit working after a year-year

It makes sheets of ice instead of individual cubes and seems very inefficient. Not super impressed. Gotta bust up the sheet of ice by hand to make a cold drink which is dumb. It seems to make more %26 hold more ice than the 26lb Frigidaire model that i had before which is what i wanted as i primarily wanted it to make ice to fill a big cooler for home butchering meat but i much preferred the bullet style ice for drinks. If this were a bullet style machine that made individual pieces of ice in an efficient manner %26 would stay on 24/7 till i turn it off then it would be 100% better. As is it's just ok. Got it on clearance with a damaged box so it was a good price so i can't complain too much though. It does what i want for filling coolers and it does make ice that with a little effort keeps a drink cold.

Like: It works great! Right out of the box. I let it sit for a few hours stationary to allow coolants to settle \n prior to starting my unit as other reviewers stated. \n Cubes are clear and it cycles in less than 30 minutes. No issues. \n\nDislike: Instructions could be more explicit with details. \n It does need to be in an area OPEN to allow air flow, not in a corner of counter.\n Water drain location isn't bad (on rear) but wish it had a(n) attachment for draining so I didn't \n have to lift and move the unit to the sink area. \n

I love this little ice maker. It is help me a lot to have an extra ice when I have my family or friend in my home. It produce ice really fast. The first time in around 30 minutes. After that will be around 15 minutes. \n\nThe reason that I rated this with 4* is because The Ice maker produce Ice, but it do not keep that frozen. You need to use that or move the ice from the ice maker to your freezer or cava. \n\n

What does every party run out of first? ICE. If you like to host BBQs or parties, then you've probably had at least a few stressful times when you had to leave the event to pick up more ice at the store. And even though that ice is cheap, the cost of it adds up over time. I was seriously WOWed when I saw what this machine could do -- here are a few of my favorite features: FAST SPEED - If you start this ice maker and wait 15 minutes, you will already have some ice to use! If you have ever tried to make ice quickly using an ice tray in your freezer, like I have, then you will appreciate this fast speed! Way quicker than driving to the store. If you need a lot of ice for a party, you can plug it in the night before and you will have 40lbs of ice to use only 24 hours later! (If you don't need as much ice, Frigidaire's 26lb icemaker is a little bit cheaper, and they also sell it on Walmart.com, but I personally think this one is awesome and the most bang for your buck!) HIGH QUALITY - This ice maker creates super high-quality ice in perfect, clear cubes! It's pretty cool that you can have restaurant-quality ice in the drinks you serve at your next BBQ. LOW NOISE - This ice maker is surprisingly super quiet, so if you leave it on during the day or during your party it doesn't bother the people around you. This incredibly high quality ice maker is the appliance that you never knew you needed, but now you can't live without it! I definitely would recommend this ice maker to anyone who loves to host, OR who just loves to make cold drinks for themselves. I am writing this review as part of a contest.
