I bought this ice machine 3 days ago after my other 26lb quit on me. So far it has done an excellant job at making ice. I have it set to make the thinner ice and it is great. It is hard ice unlike the bullet type that i had before. It is a very quiet machine dont even hear it running until it dumps the ice.

Great quality of ice on the Frigidaire 40lb compact ice maker! Would be great for cocktails or parties. It's also pretty cool to watch the ice get made. The stainless steel finish also looks great. I didn't know I needed an icemaker until I used this. I am writing this review as a part of a contest.

I was reluctant to purchase this ice maker due to the varying reviews... But I've wanted a Clear Ice maker for a couple of years. So I finally bought one. It does make mostly clear ice. I was using just tap water and would say about 90 to 95% clear. It pumps out a cycle about every 20 mins. and it's pretty quiet. I got 7 harvests per fill. After every harvest I placed the ice in a ice bucket and gave a couple of taps to break up the slab into cubes and stored them in my freezer. For the money, I think it's a keeper.

Makes ice faster than I can use it up. I'm glad I went with the clear, square ice, my daughter has the other type and says she likes mine much better. I ordered it on Christmas Day in the afternoon and it was sitting on my front porch at 10AM on the 26th (19 hours from order until delivered)

Makes great ice but does NOT keep ice frozen. if you want quick ice start with ice cold water. I dump the first basket of ice back in the water reservoir so water is colder than room temp. have to put it in another freezer to keep it. Takes all day to get one bag of ice.

This is a surprisingly high quality ice maker. At the same time that the stainless steel frame looks impressive, when you open the top lid you can see the ice being made as the water freezes into perfect cubes. Another big benefit of this ice maker is that it is extremely quiet, as we have not been bothered at all by any humming sound as the ice maker functions. Such a useful product to enhance any kitchen! Easy set up. Provides plenty of ice for the 30 office personnel. We put the unused ice in a plastic container and store it in our freezer. The timer works fine unless someone unplugs the unit. I'm thinking of getting another one for a friend who entertains quite often.

Like: It works great! Right out of the box. I let it sit for a few hours stationary to allow coolants to settle \n prior to starting my unit as other reviewers stated. \n Cubes are clear and it cycles in less than 30 minutes. No issues. \n\nDislike: Instructions could be more explicit with details. \n It does need to be in an area OPEN to allow air flow, not in a corner of counter.\n Water drain location isn't bad (on rear) but wish it had a(n) attachment for draining so I didn't \n have to lift and move the unit to the sink area. \n

What does every party run out of first? ICE. If you like to host BBQs or parties, then you've probably had at least a few stressful times when you had to leave the event to pick up more ice at the store. And even though that ice is cheap, the cost of it adds up over time. I was seriously WOWed when I saw what this machine could do -- here are a few of my favorite features: FAST SPEED - If you start this ice maker and wait 15 minutes, you will already have some ice to use! If you have ever tried to make ice quickly using an ice tray in your freezer, like I have, then you will appreciate this fast speed! Way quicker than driving to the store. If you need a lot of ice for a party, you can plug it in the night before and you will have 40lbs of ice to use only 24 hours later! (If you don't need as much ice, Frigidaire's 26lb icemaker is a little bit cheaper, and they also sell it on Walmart.com, but I personally think this one is awesome and the most bang for your buck!) HIGH QUALITY - This ice maker creates super high-quality ice in perfect, clear cubes! It's pretty cool that you can have restaurant-quality ice in the drinks you serve at your next BBQ. LOW NOISE - This ice maker is surprisingly super quiet, so if you leave it on during the day or during your party it doesn't bother the people around you. This incredibly high quality ice maker is the appliance that you never knew you needed, but now you can't live without it! I definitely would recommend this ice maker to anyone who loves to host, OR who just loves to make cold drinks for themselves. I am writing this review as part of a contest.
