I work as a bartender, and one question that I often get asked is “Why do drinks at a bar taste so much better than when I make them at home, even with the exact same ingredients?” And the answer is pretty simple: Ice. At home, even with an ice maker in your freezer, that ice is going to be sitting around, gathering both frost and unwanted smells and tastes from the other things you keep in your freezer; at a bar on the other hand, the ice is constantly being made fresh and kept isolated and protected in an individual ice maker or box. This ice maker is almost exactly a mini-version of the kind of professional ice maker I use behind my bar. This ice maker is perfect for everything from the at-home host to everyday ice needs. For better drinks, use better ice, and this is just about the best compact ice maker on the market. I personally love being able to use it at catered events where I don’t have the room for a giant professional ice maker, but I also love using it at home, as it has now replaced my own freezer’s ice maker completely. Quiet machine. Efficient with power. Nice ice cubes. They are clear. small, hard cubes. You do have to break apart the cubes (its like coming out of an ice tray), but this isn't hard to do. The cubes will slowly melt if you leave them in too long or don't use them but the water is recycled back into ice. It stops making ice once the basket is full and wont make more till open the door and take some out. It's a nice looking machine too!

The Frigidaire Compact Clear Square Ice Maker is a high quality product and is an excellent addition to any kitchen, office, or dorm room. I love the stainless steel color which makes it look really sleek and matches with any room. It’s a little bigger than some of the other ice makers I’ve been looking at, which is great because it holds a larger capacity and makes up to 40 lbs of ice. It has a large clear window which makes it easy to see ice levels. Furthermore, its extremely quiet and won’t cause any loud disturbances like some other ice makers do. This Frigidaire ice maker gets to work quickly and makes square ice cubes in less than 15 minutes. I would especially recommend this for those who like to have entertain guests, because its much easier and more cost-efficient than buying bags of ice or using ice trays. It couldn’t be more convenient because it requires no installation and is really user friendly. I wish I had this in my dorm room in college! I would happily recommend this machine to anyone who wants to have fresh ice on hand. I am writing this review as part of a contest.

Makes great ice but does NOT keep ice frozen. if you want quick ice start with ice cold water. I dump the first basket of ice back in the water reservoir so water is colder than room temp. have to put it in another freezer to keep it. Takes all day to get one bag of ice.

My father's birthday rolled around and as usual, I was struggling with gifts. Then this item popped up on Walmart and I knew it was an easy win. As someone who refuses to use ice-machine ice (store bought, only), I was nervous that he'd hate this ice too. But this is some industrial quality ice - perfect, clear cubes. He can't get enough of the visuals OR the melt-rate. He's a real ice stickler, but this is his new favorite toy. No brainer. I am writing this review as part of a contest.

Like: It works great! Right out of the box. I let it sit for a few hours stationary to allow coolants to settle \n prior to starting my unit as other reviewers stated. \n Cubes are clear and it cycles in less than 30 minutes. No issues. \n\nDislike: Instructions could be more explicit with details. \n It does need to be in an area OPEN to allow air flow, not in a corner of counter.\n Water drain location isn't bad (on rear) but wish it had a(n) attachment for draining so I didn't \n have to lift and move the unit to the sink area. \n

This ice maker is the perfect little compact product I need to deal with keeping my drinks fresh. I do not have a refrigerator which make ice, and I am constantly running out of ice and forgetting to refill my rubber trays. No more! This handy machine always has ice ready, and I love that it only requires a regular plug in to function. A huge convenience!!

I paid cash for this icemaker. it replaced an old cheaper ice maker that made 26 lbs of cloudy cubes per day.. this machine is far superior. it has a compressor that makes clear cubes with no air in them to cloud the cubes. cubes last 5x longer. you can use clean tap water but im rich so I use bottled water at .69 per gal. keeps the machine cleaner. when you get it let it sit for a few hours so the compressor fluids can level out in the unit. I set miy unit for big cubes(6) harvest cubes and but them in the freezer. in a plastic grocery bag. I slam the bag in mt stainless steel sink to break up any cubes that stick together. makes drinks that are restaurant quality.. cubes last 5x longer and don't water down drinks. if you use soda like coke or 7up it wont take the fizz out of the soda. follow directions for draining unit wnen not in use. this is a great product at a reasonable price.

I love this little ice maker. It is help me a lot to have an extra ice when I have my family or friend in my home. It produce ice really fast. The first time in around 30 minutes. After that will be around 15 minutes. \n\nThe reason that I rated this with 4* is because The Ice maker produce Ice, but it do not keep that frozen. You need to use that or move the ice from the ice maker to your freezer or cava. \n\n

Excellent ice maker that churns out ice cubes in a 24 hour span. Fantastic for dinner parties and cookouts, easy to move so people don't crowd around the freezer. Creates more room in my freezer as well so I'm not taking up space with ice trays! *This review was written as part of a contest
