Does what it says. you truly get crystal clear square cubes. However if you don't empty it they melt pretty fast, and the water on the bottom doesn't circulate for some reason, just stays there and you must take it out and clean it, which is a nuisance. other than this it's awesome and exactly what I needed since I'm a true ice snob. Also the other reviews are wierd. what's up with that.

It does make nice Clear cubes- and sheets. I would say about a 50/50 shot on getting cubes or an ice brick. If you get the ice brick you just got to turn off the machine until it melts enough to fall away from the cube grid. As for making 40 lbs of ice it may make that much but you can’t prove it by me. Last but not least, 2 short ice and brick filled months the machine decides it must pump water into the system as noisily as a teenager slurping the last tiny amount of slurpee slush from a never fully empty cup. Imagine it stuck on perptitial slurp for what feels like hours! ( may be as short as 2 -3 mins but dear Lord my nerves beg to differ!) Would NOT recommend for a friend. May recommend for the guy that cut me off in traffic! Looking for a new machine and hoping “that guy” buys this and gets the exact same issues! 2 stars because I do actually still get ice and bricks!

Easy set up. Provides plenty of ice for the 30 office personnel. We put the unused ice in a plastic container and store it in our freezer. The timer works fine unless someone unplugs the unit. I'm thinking of getting another one for a friend who entertains quite often.

When I purchased this the first time off of the Walmart website and had it shipped site to store I bought a home and had a leak like a sieve. Now the second time I purchased it from my local Walmart store recently brought it home unpacked it and let it site for an hour. The second time around it worked like it was supposed to. There were no leaks at all and it makes ice as it should. I would recommend this to people, but I would recommend that you buy it in store, not use site to store. Would also say that as a back up to it leaking at any point, I have put it in a large cookie sheet.

I have had other countertop ice makers and this one is far superior to any others. It is fast and the ice is nearly clear. Only drawback, which doesn't bother us, is that it drops a sheet of cubes and they need to be broken up. Not a big deal as they break easily when put in ice bucket or plastic bag. Walmart has a very fair price for this unit, and no shipping charge. Buy it!

Mine is quiet, makes enough ice for a family of five and we leave it on all day! When the ice melts it makes more ice! I like the clear cubes and my water and soda, teas taste better! I have it by my sink right by my water filter so my cubes are filtered and pure so to me the only unanswered question is if it will last? I have had it for two weeks and it is really easy to use! I am hoping it lasts and if it does its the best thing I would have bought this year!

I like the clear ice cubes that melt slower than the air bubble-infused cubes from the competition. It's a plus that the icemaker has a larger daily production than most. The 1/2 gallon plus reservoir is enough, even if other units have a higher capacity. You have to periodically bag up the cubes anyway -- you can refill the water if needed -- during bagging. It seems like a quality piece of equipment but have only had it for a short time. So far really pleased.

This is a surprisingly high quality ice maker. At the same time that the stainless steel frame looks impressive, when you open the top lid you can see the ice being made as the water freezes into perfect cubes. Another big benefit of this ice maker is that it is extremely quiet, as we have not been bothered at all by any humming sound as the ice maker functions. Such a useful product to enhance any kitchen! I am writing this review as part of a contest.

It makes sheets of ice instead of individual cubes and seems very inefficient. Not super impressed. Gotta bust up the sheet of ice by hand to make a cold drink which is dumb. It seems to make more %26 hold more ice than the 26lb Frigidaire model that i had before which is what i wanted as i primarily wanted it to make ice to fill a big cooler for home butchering meat but i much preferred the bullet style ice for drinks. If this were a bullet style machine that made individual pieces of ice in an efficient manner %26 would stay on 24/7 till i turn it off then it would be 100% better. As is it's just ok. Got it on clearance with a damaged box so it was a good price so i can't complain too much though. It does what i want for filling coolers and it does make ice that with a little effort keeps a drink cold.

I bought as an open box return in store. After cleaning it it started making ice. I timed and weighed the cubes. My findings at the default settings is that this machine makes 5 ounces of ice every 15 minutes. In a day that works out to 480 ounces a day. That would mean in 24 hours it makes 30 pounds of ice. The reservoir holds about 2 quarts or 64 ounces of water. So to get that 30 pounds you need to put in 7.5 quarts of water in the machine. Where I live ice is $2 for 10 pounds. So I’d be saving $6 a day making myself. Recommend
