This was purchased as a replacement for my refrigerator ice maker that quit working. It makes ice very fast, with very little noise other than the ice dropping into the bin. I normally make enough ice to last for a couple weeks and then store the ice maker. However, with it's sleek finish, it would look nice sitting out on the counter.

initially had a positive experience with the ice machine, which worked efficiently for a short period of time. However, it has now developed a bothersome loud noise, possibly coming from the motor, during the ice-making process. This unexpected issue has left me feeling quite disappointed with my purchase.

Mine is quiet, makes enough ice for a family of five and we leave it on all day! When the ice melts it makes more ice! I like the clear cubes and my water and soda, teas taste better! I have it by my sink right by my water filter so my cubes are filtered and pure so to me the only unanswered question is if it will last? I have had it for two weeks and it is really easy to use! I am hoping it lasts and if it does its the best thing I would have bought this year!

Frigidaire changed my life. After years of spilling water and breaking ice trays I decided enough was enough. I finally got myself an ice maker, and boy am I happy I did. Fresh Ice everyday, and no hassle. I am in love with my Frigidaire ice maker. Easy to use, easy to clean, works great, and looks amazing! What more can you ask for? You can't, this thing is better than sliced bread.

There are 2 of us living in an RV without an ice maker. I had my doubts that this would be able to keep up. I was wrong. We do use Yeti or similar cups and that keeps ice for long periods, but I am still amazed. It is loud, and we turn it off at night because it will wake you when the ice drops.

Quiet machine. Efficient with power. Nice ice cubes. They are clear. small, hard cubes. You do have to break apart the cubes (its like coming out of an ice tray), but this isn't hard to do. The cubes will slowly melt if you leave them in too long or don't use them but the water is recycled back into ice. It stops making ice once the basket is full and wont make more till open the door and take some out. It's a nice looking machine too!

The idea of having another appliance living in the city is brutal, however I was pleasantly surprised at how compact the Frigidaire 40lbs Compact Clear Square Ice Marker-Stainless Steel was. Counter space and storage come at a premium in a city, but so is refrigerator and freezer space. I do not have a built in ice maker in my fridge and I also do not have a lot of space in my freezer for ice trays. Walking to the store and carrying home 5 lb bags of ice is also not ideal. This is a great alternative to all the above. The set up was quick and straight forward. Filling the ice maker with water was super easy and the electronic LED controls were simple to operate. I was impressed at how quickly the first tray of ice was formed - it was less than 15 minutes. It was also entertaining to watch. Almost like magic. The basket held a lot of ice. The quality of the ice was great as well. The ice cubes were very clear in color and square in shape. On top of all the great features, the machine was very quiet while it was running. The stainless steel body of the machine also matches great with my kitchen decor. I would highly recommend the Frigidaire, 40lb Compact Clear Square Ice Maker in Stainless Steel for anyone who is limited in space, owns a fridge lacking an ice maker, likes to host and not have to carry 40 lbs of ice home and likes clear, square quality ice cubes.

This Frigidaire stainless steel ice maker gets the job done. My fridge at home is very old (i mean very old) and the ice making section is barely functioning at all. I like how quick and simple it is to make the ice when I need it. It is also perfect for BBQ parties when you need to have ice for a large group of people. The Frigidaire Compact Clear Square Ice Maker is a high quality product and is an excellent addition to any kitchen, office, or dorm room. I love the stainless steel color which makes it look really sleek and matches with any room. It’s a little bigger than some of the other ice makers I’ve been looking at, which is great because it holds a larger capacity and makes up to 40 lbs of ice. It has a large clear window which makes it easy to see ice levels. Furthermore, its extremely quiet and won’t cause any loud disturbances like some other ice makers do. This Frigidaire ice maker gets to work quickly and makes square ice cubes in less than 15 minutes. I would especially recommend this for those who like to have entertain guests, because its much easier and more cost-efficient than buying bags of ice or using ice trays. It couldn’t be more convenient because it requires no installation and is really user friendly. I wish I had this in my dorm room in college! My father's birthday rolled around and as usual, I was struggling with gifts. Then this item popped up on Walmart and I knew it was an easy win. As someone who refuses to use ice-machine ice (store bought, only), I was nervous that he'd hate this ice too. But this is some industrial quality ice - perfect, clear cubes. He can't get enough of the visuals OR the melt-rate. He's a real ice stickler, but this is his new favorite toy. No brainer. I am writing this review as part of a contest.
