I bought this to use in our Big Green Egg and it is terrible! My husband has to use my hair dryer for it to get hot enough to cook steaks! He'll use the hair dryer and it will get up to 400 degrees, but within minutes, it goes down to 300 degrees! Going to throw the rest of it out. Don't waste your money on this!

It is mostly small nuggets and dust. It doesn’t light easily.it doesn’t burn very hot and it doesn’t burn very long. Tried to smoke pork butts with it on Kamari Joe, and the full basket only burned about 7 hours. This stuff produces much much more ash than any other charcoal I have ever used.

This is the worst charcoal I have ever used. It contains very small pieces of charcoal that burn very quickly which clearly shows that this is low quality charcoal. I have used other charcoal brands and while every charcoal bag has some small pieces, this bag pretty much only had small pieces. The bag claims that they burn hotter and longer but I don't think they do. I had hard time cooking with these charcoal as they didn't burn hot and most of the charcoal pieces kept falling from the grill because they were burning so fast and were so small. I am very disappointed that sams club has this product on their shelves. I bought this product thinking that sams club carries good quality products but it was a absolute rip off

This lump charcoal burns clean and hot! It can be used for grilling or I lay a bed of it under a split of wood for smoking as it is chemical free it does not leave a weird taste like other brands of charcoal. Love the company’s mission, Will definitely be buying more!

It burns hot ! great for searing steaks. I wouldn’t use to smoke but is great for carne asada and steaks
