Pretty good. Pieces too small

I'm on at least bag #5 of this and it works great. Comes up to sear temp quickly, Very clean burn with minimal "popping" that I was getting from other brands of Lump charcoal. If you like cooking steaks over charcoal this is the best I have found.

The best lump charcoal on the market! I absolutely love using The Good Charcoal when I cool at home or work. It burns hotter and cleaner than any I've used and I love that the company helps out communities all over the United States! I use it everyday!

I recently purchased The Good Charcoal, and I must say that I am extremely happy with my purchase. This charcoal has not only exceeded my expectations but also provided excellent value. One of the first things that caught my attention was the claim that some customers made about the charcoal pieces being too small. I must admit that I was a bit confused because, in my experience, the size of the charcoal pieces did not have any detrimental effect on its use. In fact, I found that these smaller pieces ignited quickly and evenly, resulting in a consistent and reliable heat source for my grill. What truly impressed me was the efficiency of The Good Charcoal. Compared to other brands I've used in the past, I found that I needed to use much less of this product to achieve the desired heat level for my grilling. This not only saved me money but also ensured that each bag of The Good Charcoal lasted longer, making it an excellent value. One of the standout features of this charcoal is its mild flavor. It enhances the natural taste of the food without overpowering it with a strong charcoal taste. This allows the flavors of the ingredients to shine through. I will purchase again.

Had a stall with a full box of ventilated charcoal that was not burning hot for me. This charcoal needs a lot of air to get hot and did not seem to spread fire unless in the chimney. Try it, hope it works better for you. Background comparison; I use Kingsford original and Diablo Mesquite; standards are high but stakes are high too!

Good charcoal, burns hot and has nice aroma. My complaint is that there are lots of small pieces that will fall through your grate unless you have a fine screen to catch them all. Not sure if that's a Sam's second quality vs other stores as I have seen other reviews with what looks like consistently large chunks. My experience has been golf ball size or a bit smaller for average piece size. This may work for a standard BBQ but is less than desirable for a smoker (using a kamado Joe). I really want to like the company cause of what they do and how they operate but the chunk size is just not big enough. I would grab this if I couldn't find my normal charcoal and needed to grill right away.
