I've been using the Foodsaver systems for years and love that I can cook extra and freeze it for leftovers for a busy day. One thing ijust started for storing leftovers such as stew, spaghetti, beans, that type stuff or packaging hamburger meat to freeze, is once sealed I flatten them, lay them stacked in the freezer that way, less bulk and makes for more freezer room. This model is my favorite, I love the changes they made especially adding the pulse option and a window to see the end of the bag your sealing. Much better then guessing. The price is a little steep, however if you faithfully use it, you get your money's worth.

This machine works well and the height (like other reviews mentioned) is not really an issue. If anything, use a thick cookbook to be your third arm. This is my first foodsaver brand machine and I am very impressed with the suction power. My biggest issue to that I'm concerned with using the amount of plastic I'm using, so I cut a cm too short and end up having to remake a new bag. Other than the learning curve. I'd say this machine is pretty darn good!

I bought this FoodSaver FM5460 2-in-1 Food Preservation System for my niece and her newly wedded husband recently and they used it the same day it was delivered and have had a ball with it. I had told her she could even put her jewelry in the bags and store them in their freezer. They have really enjoyed it and have been recommending it to their friends in Birmingham, Alabama. My Foodsaver is 13 years old and still going strong and I can't say enough great things about it. My husband loved it the first time he used it and tells all his friends at work about the great results we've had with no freezer burned items to throw away in the freezers. The waste is non-existant now and we tell all of our friends about Food Saver Systems now.

I purchased this as a Christmas gift for my son and he loves it! He has sealed and stored so much since receiving it, that he has already ordered more bags and rolls. As a single guy he appreciates having leftovers ready in an instant and plans to buy his meat in bulks now that he can store it properly.

I researched far too long, I spotted this model FM5460 and was leaning for months while I "looked around" and I simply should have jumped on it during one of the sales! Simply the easiest to operate, not much counter space required and you don't have to scramble for bag material because it's always inside. You WILL NOT be disappointed!

It's so easy to be able to cook whatever you want, just pop it out from the fridge or the freezer, and bam! Guaranteed freshness from the moment you open the bags, I don't have to go shopping everyday just to be sure that the meal we are going to eat will be fresh, now I can stock up on meat at discounted price take our home, seal it and it's freshness, and bam! It will be waiting for you to eat it that same level of freshness that you left it at before. I highly highly recommend food saver!!! It has not only saved me a bunch of money, but it's also saved my cooking reputation with my family.

I've had my FoodSaver a little over a month now and I've already begun realizing its benefits. I'm a bachelor, and I find it very difficult to find many vegetables and meats in small quantities. I have, for years, bought packaged spinach, salads, bacon, sausage and other foods in quantities that I knew would not last as long as I would be using them. I gave up buying heads of lettuce, and even onions and mushrooms since they would spoil long before I was able to use them. In addition, I like to make my own sauces, especially spaghetti sauce in a slow cooker then store it in the refrigerator (Don't tell me about storing it in the freezer; it ruins the sauces). A friend had been telling me for years that his FoodSaver was fantastic for saving produce and other foods. Finally, I decided to buy the FM5460 FoodSaver. I bought a bag of spinach the day the machine was delivered, almost a month to the day. I washed the spinach and put it in one of the FoodSaver canisters. I'm about 3/4 of the way through the spinach, used some today in a veggie omelette, and it's as fresh as the day I bought it. I used to store the spinach in a plastic food storage container, but by this time it would have been a gooey green mess. I also like to have my own fresh ranch salads, but, again, the greens would spoil within a week or so. I found myself buying a new bag of those about every ten days. I also like to put a few chrry tomatoes in the salad, and some grilled chicken. The leftover portion of chicken and the tomatoes usually spoiled within about a week. I bought some cherry tomatoes at the same time as I bought the spinach and grilled a chicken breast that same night. I've been very busy for the past couple of months and just haven't been able to fix my own meals, but the chicken and the tomatoes are still fresh in my FoodSaver containers! Amazing! No, I don't work for FoodSaver or anyone connected with them, but they've made this bachelor a happy man!

I LOVE this machine! We are able to purchase in bulk (meats especially) and freeze/store in serving size packages. This is awesome for my teenagers as they are cooking more and more for themselves AND the family. Plus I am able to prepare single items/meals for my elderly mother. This has saved us over $100 in one month and we are just learning how to effectively use it!

This product is the best vacuum food sealer I have ever used. It is easy to use. The motor is quiet compared to the other sealers I have used. The entire operation is very simple and the sealing is uniform with every bag. Definitely the best food sealer out there

I didn’t realize that this is as important an appliance as my refrigerator or oven. No more wasted food. We are not great fans of eating leftovers. Now with the ability to vacuum seal prepared foods, leftovers don’t seem left over when defrosted and reheated weeks later. I LOVE THIS!!
