High Tech Mouse trap
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] From an overall perspective, I'm excited to have this trap in my rodent arsenal. Knowing that I can easily place this trap and monitor it from my phone without having to go look in the trap every day is such a relief. I don't have to worry about seeing a smooshed mouse ever and can easily discard of it without ever having to actually see it. I have not had a mouse issue yet this year so I haven't put this device to action. I'm confident in its ability to operate as designed. The instructions are easy to follow and I don't feel like I will have any trouble getting it set and ready for use when the time comes. I like that my kids won't have to see it either. Makes this a great product!
Other Victor products work better
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] After reading the description for this mouse trap, I knew I just had to have it. But after a week of trying to get it setup to use, I am very disappointed. Have not been able to determine whether it is my internet strength or a malfunction with the unit. The first problem with the unit in my opinion is after setting it up according to the directions there is no way of testing it. So you could place it somewhere thinking you were going to get an alert when you catch a mouse, only to find out later that you had caught a mouse and were not alerted. As you can see in the picture, I was able to test it once by dropping a wet toothpick into the unit. I received an alert. But after resetting the unit, I was never able to get it to work again. I believe an electronic charge was sent and that if a mouse had gone into the unit it would have been killed. But I would not have been alerted and would still have to check the trap. There are less expensive mouse traps on the market that would do the same thing. A couple more negatives are that it is for indoor use only and it is so small (see picture of the inside barriers) that I do not think a large mouse would fit in it. This is not to say all Victor products are bad. I do have mice under my house. I can hear them. So I bought a Victor Pestchaser Pro Rodent Repeller. I placed it under my house. I no longer hear the mice. This unit repels both mice and rats.
zapped
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] i received my victor smart kill electronic mouse trap. you need to download the app on your phone which will alert you when you have zapped your mouse. you also need to have it set up close to your wifi signal.this wouldn't work out for me because my wifi is to far away from the area i would use it in. i don't think i would recommend this product to anyone as i wouldn't care to use it myself.
crazy, but it works
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] when I first noticed this product, I thought it sounded crazy. after trying it, I find it works well on the very few rodents I have ever had made life easier for pest control maintenance people who come to me every mo. on a contracted pest control basis. I would buy again when in future need.
Easy
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I mustbe honest that i have never seen such smart technology ever. It was very simple to set up. All you do is down load the app and set it to your phone like any other wifi device. Unfortunately i have not been able to catch anything as my home is not infested but i have a few field mice each year. i love the technology and hope this works just as well once it catches one.
A Better Mouse Trap
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This Victor mouse trap is indeed a modern twist on an otherwise simple mechanism. Unlike mechanical traps that either use a spring or sticky pad, this trap uses electricity to shock the mouse. The device is able to connect to your home's wifi so you can receive alerts when a mouse is caught. In addition, there's a light that also lights up when a mouse is inside the box. The mechanism is set up such that a mouse that enters will trigger the electric charge and kill the mouse quickly. The box lid simply pops open so you can put in bait (cheese) and also dispose of the mouse's body. In addition, the trap requires 4 AA batteries (not included). All in all, this is a much fancier mouse trap that brings us to the modern era.
simple set up...
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I received my Victor Smart Kill mouse trap from the Spark Reviewer Program. Every Winter we encounter at least 1 mouse, always in the garage. In the past we have used sticky pads, and poison granules. I don't like actually finding/seeing the dead mouse, stiff and frozen somewhere in my garage. I thought this would be a better way to trap a mouse. You are supposed to receive a notification when a mouse is trapped. PLease note this trap WILL STILL WORK if you choose not to download the app. My son dowloaded the "Victor Pest App" on my phone. It was quick and easy. You will need 4 double A batteries for the trap. After you are connected to the trap you should place the trap relatively close to your wifi. Mine apparentley was not close enough because I received a notification on my phone saying "the connection had been lost for at least 24 hours". You are also supposed to make sure your 4 double A batteries are brand new, have full strength, etc. The app wil send you a notification when your batteries are running low on juice! We put a dab of peanut butter in the trap. As of now we have not seen nor caught a mouse. I have relocated the trap so we don't lose connection again and had to replace the batteries. There's more "maintenance" with this kind of trap, but I do prefer this way over sticky pads and mouse poison.
Highly recommend-Enclosed trap, easy set up
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] We haven't caught the mouse yet, and I am not sure why. We have had the trap set for 8 days, and reset the bait three times. We have seen the mouse and it is really small, so I am not sure if we have not caught the mouse because maybe the mouse is very young. I also wonder if the bait trap is so small that the mouse does not smell the bait. Either way the mouse has not traveled into the bait station at all. The app has shown no activity, and there is no sign the mouse has been in the trap. However, the trap is awesome (if you can be excited about a mouse trap), and I feel like the mouse will be caught. The bait trap was very easy to set up, although it took a little time to figure out where the bait station was. After reading that we should use a toothpick or q-tip to bait the trap, I realized the bait cup was really small. Interesting that it does not require more than a drop of bait, in our case we are using peanut butter. The rodent is not able to back out of the trap once it gets inside the trap. The metal pieces are suppose to electrocute the rodent as it steps on the metal. The Victor app was easy to install and set up, this took less than 5 minutes, and works off wi-fi. After the mouse gets into trap and is killed it will show on the app. We needed to set up the trap on my husbands phone after the initial installation on my phone. In order to do this we had to delete the trap from my app. I am not sure why it won't work on separate devices. Although we have not caught a mouse yet, I think this type of enclosed trap is the best trap. The app is is the best part. We have a lot of woods around us, and an occasional mouse is still unwanted.
Works Great
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The set up to my router and phone were super easy. We set it up and within 2 days we got a notification that there was a mouse in the trap on our phones. It was also very easy to clean after the mice were gone. I love that I get notifications on my phone and don't have to remember to check the trap. One thing I did not like about this was that it does give false notifications telling you it is full and to empty it and there is nothing in there. Other than that, it is a great product and I will continue to use in my basement to catch the mice.
Still trying
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This is an electronic mouse trap meaning you connect it to your wifi. After reading and following the directions I was not able to connect the trap to my wifi. For some unknown reason it just would not connect. It kept saying wifi not available but I know that was not true as I have other devices connected to my wifi. So I haven't yet been able to connect so I can't give a better review than that.
