Not an eyesore.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The only area in my house I have an issue with mice is my bathroom and this is an indoor mouse trap, it is smart looking, unobtrusive and it gives me piece of mind that I won't have no unexpected surprises that I will step on. I use peppermint in the area but it is only a deterrent, now I don't have to be concerned about applying it regularly and I don't have to have that smell always there for that to work. The peppermint is the first measure and only a deterrent, this will the be the constant line of defense that will dispose of them humanely and I feel confident this will be more than a deterrent but a barrier against them spreading. It is good to know that there will be minimal contact once trapped inside, just empty, clean and put in fresh bait, there is no guesswork if there is a mouse in in the trap or not, the information will be on the app and you will get a kill alert. That alone makes it hassle free and the rodent is hidden from view. No questioning, checking the trap and wondering if it has been used, you don't have to see the mouse to know if it is there. The bait cup is really small so you are not using too much bait just the amount needed. You can name the trap so you know the location it is in if there is more than one trap in use, you can know which one has been activated. It claims to be quick and humane so that is an extra layer of comfort that it is not a prolonged kill and that matters to me as well. Reusable, easy disposal, and no-see, kills in seconds is a very efficient and sanitary way to defend against this nuisance, it is not a nuisance anymore.
New idea for a mouse trap
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] We had a mouse problem when we moved into our house. We bought some Victor mechanical traps, the traditional kid that snap closed onto the mouse and kill it as it steps on the yellow platform while getting the bait. In 2 nights we caught a whole family of mice. However, the issue was that I had to remove the dead mice (gross) which required donning gloves, releasing the spring trap, and removing the dead mouse to dispose of it. Also I had no way of knowing if a mouse went into the trap overnight so I had to check it each morning and some of the traps were in hard to reach areas like behind the oven! Enter this product, the Victor Smart Kill Electronic WiFi enabled Mouse Trap. This mouse trap is a chamber that has a hole for mice to enter. Then there is a door they go through to get the bait, and the floor of the trap has an electric charge that shocks and kills them (powered by 4 AA batteries). Victor claims this method is supposedly more "humane" than other kill methods. The trap is connected to WiFi so when the trap is triggered, you receive a notification on your Android phone or iPhone (you must download the free Victor app). In any case, this solves both the issues I had with the mechanical traps. I no longer have to check the trap to see if a mouse was caught since I'll know when I am notified on my phone. Also removal and disposal is not yucky since the top of the trap pops up and you can simply flip the trap upside-down and drop the dead mouse out. You can also remove the trap chamber part of the trap from the part with the electricity so you can clean/wash it in water. I did have some issues connecting the trap to WiFi but only minor ones. Overall this is a smart and novel product and I am impressed that Victor is constantly evolving with as new technology is developed. I would definitely recommend this product to anyone who wants to catch mice cleanly, humanely, and with minimal effort.
disappointed
Havent caught a thing. The app is clunky and the traps attract nothing. Have has zero success. Very diasappointed. Definitely not worrh the money.

Easy
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I mustbe honest that i have never seen such smart technology ever. It was very simple to set up. All you do is down load the app and set it to your phone like any other wifi device. Unfortunately i have not been able to catch anything as my home is not infested but i have a few field mice each year. i love the technology and hope this works just as well once it catches one.
simple set up...
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I received my Victor Smart Kill mouse trap from the Spark Reviewer Program. Every Winter we encounter at least 1 mouse, always in the garage. In the past we have used sticky pads, and poison granules. I don't like actually finding/seeing the dead mouse, stiff and frozen somewhere in my garage. I thought this would be a better way to trap a mouse. You are supposed to receive a notification when a mouse is trapped. PLease note this trap WILL STILL WORK if you choose not to download the app. My son dowloaded the "Victor Pest App" on my phone. It was quick and easy. You will need 4 double A batteries for the trap. After you are connected to the trap you should place the trap relatively close to your wifi. Mine apparentley was not close enough because I received a notification on my phone saying "the connection had been lost for at least 24 hours". You are also supposed to make sure your 4 double A batteries are brand new, have full strength, etc. The app wil send you a notification when your batteries are running low on juice! We put a dab of peanut butter in the trap. As of now we have not seen nor caught a mouse. I have relocated the trap so we don't lose connection again and had to replace the batteries. There's more "maintenance" with this kind of trap, but I do prefer this way over sticky pads and mouse poison.
Easy to set up...but does it work?
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] No one likes dealing with rodents, except maybe Ninja turtles. This was easy to set up, with clear instructions. Also safer than the old tom and jerry spring traps. I have it set up in the pantry against the wall. No reports of a caught mouse, but may not actually have one.
it should work
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Well I have had this trap now for just under three weeks. I do not usually have a mouse problem, but maybe once a winter a mouse may leave droppings somewhere I can see them as I live in the country. I then bait a trap and usually within a day or two I check the trap and there is a mouse. I baited this trap just as I got it, but now after about 17 days I have no mouse... not that I expected one. The trap is pretty high tech considering it will notify me via email that a mouse has been trapped and dispatched electronically. Maybe if it just started an LED light flashing, or emitted a shriek like a fire alarm does when the battery is failing would be enough. But setup was quick and easy and after install 4 batteries and baiting with peanut butter, I set it and waited. So far no mouse, but I don't think it is the trap's fault, as there may be no mouse in my house to catch. It seems safe for pets, and humane to the mouse and easy to dump the dead mouse in the trash.
Excellent Trap
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I received this a promo selection and it's definitely a keeper. My daughter and her office mates discovered they had a mouse after a week away. I wanted to see if this product was legit, so she downloaded the app on her phone and we set up the bait station. The app was easy to find and setting up the station to WiFi was just as easy. The station takes 4 AA batteries as well. Once that was done, in two days she told me the culprit was caught. Needless to say, this product is awesome and I would definitely recommend it.
Other Victor products work better
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] After reading the description for this mouse trap, I knew I just had to have it. But after a week of trying to get it setup to use, I am very disappointed. Have not been able to determine whether it is my internet strength or a malfunction with the unit. The first problem with the unit in my opinion is after setting it up according to the directions there is no way of testing it. So you could place it somewhere thinking you were going to get an alert when you catch a mouse, only to find out later that you had caught a mouse and were not alerted. As you can see in the picture, I was able to test it once by dropping a wet toothpick into the unit. I received an alert. But after resetting the unit, I was never able to get it to work again. I believe an electronic charge was sent and that if a mouse had gone into the unit it would have been killed. But I would not have been alerted and would still have to check the trap. There are less expensive mouse traps on the market that would do the same thing. A couple more negatives are that it is for indoor use only and it is so small (see picture of the inside barriers) that I do not think a large mouse would fit in it. This is not to say all Victor products are bad. I do have mice under my house. I can hear them. So I bought a Victor Pestchaser Pro Rodent Repeller. I placed it under my house. I no longer hear the mice. This unit repels both mice and rats.
Still trying
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This is an electronic mouse trap meaning you connect it to your wifi. After reading and following the directions I was not able to connect the trap to my wifi. For some unknown reason it just would not connect. It kept saying wifi not available but I know that was not true as I have other devices connected to my wifi. So I haven't yet been able to connect so I can't give a better review than that.
