Best and easiest trap to use !

I bought this because I have been having several unwanted mice in my home. This product works great and easy to set up to any phone! First night I had it set up I caught a critter and notified immediately by the app! It's easy to empty after a kill and isn't visible! Much easier than the old fashioned traps that are hard to set and risk losing a finger lol ! But seriously recommend to anyone who has a mouse problem.Just add peanut butter in the bait station and you're ready to go! Will also notify you if you're battery is low. Low cost and great product! I give it a 10

Liked It So Much, Bought Three More!!! :-)

This thing works as described, but make sure you have a good enough WiFi signal wherever you place it. :-) I use a MESH WiFi throughout the house so no issue here.

Mice vs. Technology

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] We experienced a huge drop in temperature this week which seems to have driven mice into the house. I've recently heard some rustling in the walls so I was very eager to try out this Victor electronic mouse trap that offers not only a mess free way of getting rid of pests, but sends alerts to your phone or device to let you know when it does! The trap is heavy plastic and feels well made. Underneath it there's a place to hold four AA batteries. The top of the trap snaps open and at the far end there's a tiny bait cup. Trying to get peanut butter in it while not allowing it to touch the metal plate next to it is a challenge. I struggled using a plastic knife. The end of a chopstick would have worked better. I powered it on and loaded the app on my Android tablet from the GooglePlay store. Installation went well, but I did have some problems with getting the trap to find my wi-fi. It failed a few times even though the signal strength was high. I kept trying and was able to get the code off the trap scanned in and the app and trap to link up. I like that you get to name the trap so you can be super specific like “basement under stairs trap”. If you buy more of these traps, this is important. I placed it in the kitchen and hoped for the best. It's hard to know if the trap is actually on as there's no light that stays on to tell you. Even just the button showing an orange or red color beneath it when pressed would be better than nothing. All in all though, I'm so happy this product exists. How convenient! And it sure makes getting notifications more exciting. Update: I moved the trap out to the back porch and have caught two mice in three days. This thing works awesome!

Cool, smart gadget

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This trap will notify you when a mouse get caught, just download and setup the Victor app, add to the Wi-Fi connected trap up a high-protein bait (as peanut butter) and wait to be notified. We haven't mouse issues but we added this in our garage, you never know! We will see whether we catch a mouse, the trap is supposed to electrocute the mouse and the disposal is a no-thouch no-see one. You can name the trap if you have multiple ones so the notification will mention the one which caught a mouse. The notification is useful to make the disposal fast for you...and for the mouse.

Difficult to set up; no results yet

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] My family was excited to get the Victor Smart-Kill Electronic Mouse Trap. We downloaded the app and tried to follow the instructions, but could not make any connections. Of course, we were setting out up in the evening when the "help desk" was not available. After a few days, my son was finally able to get help from technical support and connect his phone to the trap. It has been over 4 days, and we haven't caught a single mouse. I like the design and it is compact enough to fit in small spaces. I would recommend making it easier to connect the trap to clients' phones.

Very Very Tiny

The premise is great, and the design is great. But it's soooo much smaller than it looks in the picture. In reality, it could only fit a baby rat or tiny mouse.

Didn't kill a thing except my expectations.

Purchased with great expectations that someone had finally “built a better mousetrap”! Package arrived and after installing batteries it wasn't too difficult to set up. I was excited and hopeful to have found a no muss, no fuss solution to our seasonal mouse infiltration. Sadly. Not so. I heard the activity near the trap, heard the buzz/hum of electrical shock, got the notification on my device that there was a kill in the trap… and nothing. Ok, reset. Another notification, another empty trap. Reset again. The next night I hear a prolonged buzzing, it stops and then buzzes again. No notification this time and no mouse either. The mice around here must be impervious to electrical shock, they got to the bait and left the trap empty.

Good concept if it would actually work

Bought one and ended up asking for a replacement within a day or two. I've put good quality new batteries into the replacement one and same thing happened where it loses connection and then won't power on.

Great Idea, but Wifi too weak

I am very disappointed that this wasn't better designed and engineered since it's a great idea! To have a mousetrap that could be placed in hard-to-reach locations that would tell you when a mouse has been caught is a great idea. Unfortunately the Wifi capability is so weak my trap would never stay connected to my phone. I even spent the money to purchase a Wifi extender to increase signal strength and it still did not stay connected. Even without the Wifi extender I could surf the web on my phone using Wifi in the location of the trap so signal strength was enough for that, but the receiver in the trap is not robust enough to stay connected. I'm glad it worked for others, but I'm going to return it since it just wouldn't work even after adding a Wifi extender.
