This is certainly not what we want for your ownership experience, and we apologize for the disappointment it caused you. We'd love to be of assistance moving forward. There can be specific causes for the unit not starting, such as a blown fuse or a tripped circuit breaker, the unit could be unplugged or not pushed completely into the outlet, or the current interrupter device is tripped. You can press the RESET button on the power cord plug for the interrupter device. If the RESET button will not stay engaged, discontinue use of the air conditioner and contact a technician. If the above suggestions do not solve this issue, we suggest making use of the limited one year warranty and contacting a qualified GE service technician. This AC is very quiet, even at full fan speed, and it cools my 500 sf garage very well!
