WARNING - I made a mistake of buying this after looking at the 5000 and 6000 BTU ac units by Midea. This 8000 BTU inverter unit does NOT show the clearance reqs on it like the other two models have on there. It would be nice for Midea (and all AC Unit Manufacturers really) to show the different height requirements needed for their different units to make it easier for the consumer to decide and save time and money on returns.

I have had this AC for nearly a week, and it has been nothing short of amazing. I bought it to replace a moldy Midea U shaped AC, and I’m happy that it is nearly if not just as quiet. It has no problem cooling my room even on the low setting, and it’s useful to have extra cooling power if I need it. The boost mode cools my room super fast! I like the look of the unit as well, and it comes with a removable drain plug - having previously had mold in my AC, I did not hesitate to remove it (SO much water came out). This unit can be controlled in the app - it’s handy to be able to start the AC when headed home from work or from a walk/jog outside. The app also lets you turn off the LED lights, and the beeping sound when changing a setting - all very useful. It’s hard to believe that I had a loud AC just a few years ago. These Midea units are really in a league of their own.

Second Midea I've owned. First one Midea recalled for mold issue (wonder how that is for my health) so grabbed this one to replace it. This 8000 BTU is same size as previous and does NOT cool nearly as good as the other one. I already have it installed otherwise I'd return it. I'd look at other brands for anyone shopping.

Would absolutely NOT recommend this AC. Drove over an hour to pick up at the store and get home to find it's listed wrong dimensions on the website compared to the item received. Won't fit and when we unboxed it to confirm, it has 3 screws laying in the box missing from the back. Contacted customer care for a refund as this is ridiculous to drive an hour and get the wrong thing. The quality is a question in itself. The thing looks like a Temu AC unit. It's put together poorly and none of the seams even line up. I wouldn't even had installed it if it was the right size. The box was pristine so it left the factory in this condition. The fins on the back also had damage from the factory putting it in the box. I would not buy this and stear clear from Sam's Club ACs. Just buy one at Lowe's or Home Depot with the Extended warranty and you'll be happier.

This unit is so quiet and efficient.

The overall rating is 2. The product is fine. I bought two at Walmart where the price is $5 less than the club price at Sam's. Since I pay $120/yr for membership, I don't expect to find cheaper prices in a Walmart store. Is this the value of a Sam's membership?

This air conditioner is excellent, it is the quietest unit I have ever owned. Totally satisfied!
