Nutrition over fluff

Nutrition is nutrition. Educate yourself and you will find ounce per ounce, dog chow delivers healthy/tasty food for most fur babies. If your need a special diet for a specific need... That's the right thing, but didn't get caught up with ingredients claims, zero this or zero that, or gimics like heavily preserved/high salt raw or 'fresh' diets.

The Smell was Horrendous!

I was scooping dog food out of the bag when the smell about Knocked me out, it was so bad. I questioned my husband if he noticed and he said that he just holds his breath while scooping it out. I am now questioning our choice in this brand of dog food.

Made dog gain weight (negatively)

Ever since our dog has been on this food, he has gained weight and is definitely showing a belly - not healthy. We had to switch to something different (at a comparable price) since Sam's no longer carries it's Member Mark Brand of chicken and rice dog food. Why the discontinued dog food? There was never even a notice to customers about it!

SECRET TO YOUR DOG LIVING TO BE 15+ YEARS OLD

For more than 40 years now I have been feeding my dogs one of 3 brands of "DRY" dog food/kibble i.e. the Purina, Alpo, or Pedigree Dog Food Brands. A lot of people think these brands are "trash dog food" i.e. dog food that's bad for your dog's health and well being and yet, the vast majority of my dogs over the past 40+ years have lived "very healthy lives" past 14 to 15 years of age. This is a nice long life for any dog. A secret to feeding my dogs these dog food brands is that I save the Fat, Skin, and Juice from any Chicken, Beef, Pork, or Bacon that I cook and I cut it 50/50 with water, heat it in the microwave, and pour it over their food EVERYDAY. My dog's absolutely LOVE IT and WOLF IT DOWN EVERYDAY. So buy the "Premium Expensive Dog Food Brands" if you want to but these cheaper inexpensive brands of dog food ARE JUST AS GOOD. Don't be fooled or guilted into buying the expensive premium brands when these will be just as good for your dogs health and well being for a long loving life.

Dogs love the beef flavor

This dog food is perfect for my two dogs. They love the beef flavor and have no issues with this dog food. The pieces are good sized and easy for a medium sized dog to chew. This is a very large bag so it will last a good amount of time. I would definitely recommend this product if you are looking for an affordable dog food that is still high quality.

Been feeding this to our Lab Mix for 12 years!

We have been feeding Purina Dog Chow to our mixed black lab for the past 12 years. She is in good health and the vet said to continue what were are doing. I alternate buyibg the beef, chicken and lamb for some variety. She is now 13. I do mix a little something in to whet her appetite now, like a tsp of peanut butter mixed with a little warm water or a morsel of two of dog approved leftovers. I just started doing that recently as it seems in her old age her appetite has declined. The vet said Purina Dog Chow has been around a long time and is a good dog food.

We’re sorry to learn about your dog's experience with Dog Chow Complete, Beef Flavor, Adult Dry Dog Food. As dog lovers ourselves, the health and safety of pets is always our top priority, and all of our formulas are 100% safe to feed. When changing a dog’s diet, it’s important to transition gradually over 7–10 days to help avoid digestive upset. Start by mixing about 10% of the new food with 90% of the current food. Each day, increase the amount of the new food while decreasing the current food until the transition is complete. This gradual process helps prevent issues such as refusal to eat, vomiting, or diarrhea that can occur with sudden diet changes. Your feedback matters to us, and we’d like to learn more about her situation so we can help. Please reach out to us directly at https://www.merrickpetcare.com/contact-us. – The Dog Chow Team
