Has pieces of metal

We only had a year and there is pieces of metal coming off of the metal pieces that the ice is made,i would not recommend.I have had other ice makers and never had this happen before.

Fast but ice cubes are small and melt in unit

Pros: makes ice fast, price of product is lower than other. Cons: ice melts while it's sitting in basket (unit is not cold enough to keep ice frozen), noisy, ice cubes are small, really doesn't make much ice (made a quart size ziploc bag size of small ice cubes in 3 hours), seems like cleaning it will be a pain.

Doesn't Keep Ice

Overall this ice maker makes ice quickly, quietly and efficiently. The ice it makes is very soft, and it doesn't keep ice. The ice it makes will quickly melt if not placed in a freeze. So although it make ice, this item is terrible at keeping the ice.

It is intended that ice produced be periodically transferred to zipperlock bags for storage in a conventional freezer.To make firmer/larger/drier ice, use colder water. Tip, let the first couple of batches of ice fall into the water reservoir to chill the water.

Love it so far!

Just bought this today but so far it is 5 stars! It makes ice every 6-8 mins. I bought this because our in the door ice maker leaks and the part that might fix it cost more than this ice maker and we can take this one camping. I emptied the batches into the in the door ice maker and it will dispense them. It filled the ice maker box in about 4 hours. The ice is a little wet so it will stick together but that is no big deal. Oh, and it matches my other Frigidaire Gallery appliances. Happy so far.

Very Reasonable Option

Purchased this product about 2 months ago Pretty pleased with it. Seems to generate a sufficient amount of ice, making small cubes seems to speed up the process. We transfer the ice to a container in the freezer. Since the ice comes out with a bit of moisture, it tends to re-freeze together, which then requires some manipulation to get it back to individual cubes. The other option was to buy a new, spendy refrigerator or go out to buy ice. So far, this seems to be a far better choice.
