If you are familiar with true pasture raised eggs, these will likely NOT impress you, other than the price. Super affordable, yes. True pasture raised, absolutely not. When you crack open the egg and see the color of the yolk, that's the dead giveaway. Other than these “pasture raised” eggs, every other one had deep orange yolks. These do not. They are the color of your run of the mill cage free/free range eggs. These are pasture raised according to the carton only.

What has happened to these eggs this Spring? They are not anywhere near as good as they have been. I've been buying these eggs since Sam's introduced them before the pandemic. I have always considered them the best pasture raised eggs available in a large supermarket scenario- always thick shelled and orange yolked- until about 6 weeks ago (March 2026). They still have thick shells, but the yolks are not at all orange, they are definitely yellow and sometimes quite pale, at that. I decided to buy Aldi's pasture raised eggs which are the same cost per dozen as Sam's and they are quite good right now. But I would prefer to buy them at Sam's, so I'm wondering what is going on with the farming of these chickens? Bring back the good ones!

I worry these eggs aren't actually pasteurized raised. Before when I used to buy them their yolks were a bit more orange and now they are bright yellow like sick yellow like these chickens are probably sick and dying yellow so that's very concerning. I don't know if this is a scam at this point, I don't know what sort of labeling they're getting away with, but I don't think these are truly healthy pasture raised eggs, or else the yolk would reflect that.

I used to buy these eggs a lot and the yolk was a beautiful bright orange! Then they disappeared from the shelves for several months. Now they are back! But - obviously they changed vendors during that time because these are NOT the same eggs. Yellow yolk - not deep orange. They are not true pasture raised eggs or most likely free to roam but not humanely fed or raised.

I used to buy these eggs yrs ago and they were fine but the last 2 pkg I bought one 6 months ago I got sick as a dog!! Had to go to the doctor and then I brought them on Feb 11th 2026 Ate 3 scrambled eggs 2-15-26 And later that day who sick me!! Who still sick me the next day I won't ever buy eggs from Sam's again what are they feeding them and I eat eggland best eggs all the time Don't get sick!! Just be careful ppl especially children
