Disappointed!

We purchased this laminate during Covid lockdown and are extremely disappointed with it. It says you can mop it but you absolutely can not! Our floor in our den looks horrible. I also agree that it chips far too easily. I would not purchase this floor again or recommend ot to anyone.

Hello, Thank you for posting a review. We are sorry to hear about your experience. Because the SpillDefense laminates have an AC4 traffic rating, chipping should not occur with normal residential use. However, it is still important to protect your floor by putting felt pads on your furniture and trying to avoid dragging or dropping heavy objects onto the laminate. As for mopping, the best way to clean laminate flooring is to use a vacuum or dust mop, and spot clean with a water-based cleaner made for laminate flooring if needed. This stuff is like bare particle board!

This is in no way waterproof, not even water resistant! If you have pets do not buy this flooring! It is like a sponge that swells overnight from accidents, and even hairballs! What a total waste of money and time!!!

best water resistant of 4 different floors used

I am THRILLED with this floor. I had trouble initially putting the panels down (does not work like other laminates i have installed the past 10 years) but found it such a breeze to once figured out how to lay down the boards - sometimes it helps reading provided instructions. The only thing is- it is hard to "uninstall" the panels in case of a mistake. The locking lips break easily off and the board is not reusable (unless using glue). The floor is in my kitchen, two times I missed cleaning up right away my dogs' water spills and was quite disappointed that a swelling spot showed up. BUT - like magic - the swelling had disappeared the next day. And I have 15 German Shepherds run across this floor with no gentle treatment , but the floor holds up and looks like the first day I had it installed (one year), no chipping, no scratches, nothing . The only thing I regret is that I did not buy more of it early enough for the rest of the house because now it has almost doubled in cost. Talking about 8% (???) inflation !!!
