Vizio 50 inch 4k tv

After read so many reviews on Walmarts black Friday tvs I was hesitant on this purchase. From what I gather they make black Friday tvs using cheaper parts. That being said I truly have nothing bad to say about this tv. There were no damages and no stuck or dead pixels which you rarely get. The wifi speed is great and it does have great sound and better picture compared to my tcl(same class). You have to go into setting to turn on surround sound and turn on auto adjust to what you are watching to really get a good sound on this tv. Also turning down your brightness to 60% on every mode will make your tv last longer and you really can't tell a different. Take some time to make the adjustments and this is a very good quality tv. I am very picky and usually send back anything that doesn't meet my expectations. From all the reviews I feel like I receive a really good tv compare to most.

Great Bargain

I got this on a pre Black Friday sale for $128. This was a great deal. I was looking at an Insignia from 43" from Best Buy , actually had it in the cart, then I saw this 50" for $128, and I couldn't pass it up. It's a very nice tv in general, but the price made it that much nicer.

I bought this TV during the black friday sales. I shop these sales every year and have been buying tvs from the black friday walmart sales for the past 5 years. This TV is the only one to ever give me problems. We installed the TV right after Christmas and the back lights have already gone out. There is sound, but no picture. We read the manual upon installation and it states to turn down back light settings to 50%. I did buy 2 of these tvs at the same time so will update if the other tv has issues that arise.

For the price

For what I paid for it, it's a decent tv. One thing I don't like is the sound I've really had to mess with it and it's still not what I like. It doesn't have that deep theater sound. The tv is very light and flimsy. The picture quality is fine, nothing fancy but not bad. The other issue I have is that it won't work without the internet. So even to watch regular tv you wouldn't be able to as far as I can find without having it hooked up. So if you don't have decent wifi I wouldn't recommend it. If you are used to having a nice tv this isn't for you. It's an upgrade for someone who just wants a bigger tv.

Defective

The Tv would have been a STEAL if mine had worked. Picture and sound seemed ok. But the Tv kept restarting and staying on the Vizio loading screen for HOURS at a time. This made the remote unusable. The Tv would shut off and stayed on a repeating loop of loading and showing the Vizio logo. Making this TV unusable. Started the return process.

Great Budget 4k TV!

This is a very nice budget 4k TV. I have no concerns or complaints. I wanted something affordable to put into a garage - rec room. This should work perfectly for that use. Not as many features and high end functions as other TV’s, but it is clearly a budget TV. Frankly, for its price range, I think it does have some good features and picture quality. I also purchased it via Black Friday pricing in 2025, so I got an incredible deal - just under $130. Given the price I paid, I think it’s an exceptional value purchase for my usage. All of that said, I would not hesitate putting this in a bedroom, family room, etc… I would put it up against any budget 4k TV and most mid range 4k TVs. The picture quality is that good, especially given the price. Simply don’t expect it to compete for features and picture quality with high end 4k TV’s.

i bought this tv because of the great black friday deal but now i see why it was a good deal. i used this tv for maybe a week before i had to travel down south for work leaving the tv at the house. it was turned off but left plugged in and i returned home yesterday and the tv will not turn. i have done everything i could think of to get it to turn on and nothing. do not buy this tv. besides it not working after a week of use the tv was very confusing when it was working and seened like everything that was on there you had to pay for. I had to drive an hour away just to get this TV and spent just over $200 all for nothing. it seems like everything i have been getting from walmart here lately has been very poor quality damaged or a waste of money. I dont know why walmart has been dropping the ball but they need to step it back up or i will officially no longer be shopping there and will also steer friends and family away as well. i do not recommend buying this tv.

Does not work outside of North America

These do no work outside of America. We brought our to our beach house in the Caribbean and when we arrived and tried to set up it said home screen not available in your region. It was also very challenging to set up, we had to use a vpn to let it think we were in the US and then use the app to get directly to channels because the home screen just showed an error message

Things that make you say hmmmmm…

The TV itself is a nice electronic device. However, there are a few concerns I’m a bit disappointed with. One is the font size, as there are ONLY two options-either very small font or very huge font. There is no readable font size format. Also, the color of the font size is “white” this color makes it hard to read when the background color has white in it. It would have been nice if the color was a basic “black.” Not to mention, the picture is nice for 14K on certain channels, but not all channels have the same type of vibrate picture. Lastly, there are several “free” channels that have been advertised with the Vizio TV (all series) and I’m short on a lot of the channels. The channels in my Vizio app pull up but they are not registering to the Vizio TV. Lastly, when watching a TV show there are commercials (which is standard) but then there are also short breaks (with instrumental music) at the same time before the TV shows comes back on. This is an overall of 5 minutes or so, before continuing back to the TV show program. These are concerns that probably can be resolved but I shouldn’t have to tackle all of these concerns when the TV was set up in late December of 2025.
