Great generator

Got this as 'insurance' against the increasing number of power outages. My electrician set up wiring for easy connection to my breaker box. It's really easy to roll around and use. It runs all the essential things (sump pump, furnace, refrigerator/freezer some lights, one burner on fridge, computer) - about 1/2 the house - plenty for an extended outage. I am almost looking forward to putting it through its paces during the next outage. Almost.

First Impession not good, Sence then perfect

Bought this generator as a home back up. First use was a long term power outage in cold weather. After 17 hours it pushed the little gasket/bushing out of a fitting where the two wires go through the crank case for the low oil sensor, It puked all the oil out of it on my driveway until the low oil sensor shut it off. Not good at 2am in 5 degree weather. In the dark I thought it blew up with all the oil. Diagnosed it the next day, pushed the bushing back in place with silicone sealant. Sense then it's been perfect. I like the generator now but at 2am the first use I was frustrated. I would still recommend this generator as I think this was a fluke and it's been perfect since

Needed for immediate concerns that we may need it

Having no backup plan for heat and concerns we may lose electricity with forecasted temperatures at -33°. I wanted piece of mind knowing it would sufficiently power our furnace and any other things we need. Started right up on first pull, battery wasn't charged straight out of box when I did initial start, but works now that it has been charged. Great product.

This product has great features

So far I only have had it for a week. It is smaller and lighter when moving it around compared to my old generator. I am slowly checking out all of the cool features it has. I especially like the ability to charge the battery just by plugging it in. and the light that will show when the battery is low. Larry

Great Dependability

Bought this during Laura Hurricane, brought us thru a critical time of heat and needing to save our food and keeping us comfortable, actually a life saver during unexpected times, thanks so much for the dependability and ease of operation, been a God send.

hard to move

I give this 17500E a 5 star rating. The only con I have is the portability. I have to move the gen. around. I mounted a heavy duty caster with brake the second day I owned it , this totally changed the portability, I can move it around with one hand. Also I believe the handle needs to be adjustable so you don't have to do a shoulder lift to get it rolling.

This is the one!

I bought this unit because I am building a house in the country. Com Ed won't have power there for another month. It took all of 10 minutes to put this together. total 15 minutes from box to running. Loaded it on the 1st start, Wow, this will run everything I need it to. Then after the house is built, it will serve as a back up in power outages. Illinois doesn't have the best of winters out here in the country. I recomend this to any one serious about a quality generator!

Quality out of the box, one pull start, only used 30 minutes as first start up trial.

Unit packaging was quality, instructions and assembly of wheels to frame and feet as well as handle was simple. Manual was easy to read, follow for warnings and pre-start up instructions. Unit started on first pull, expected maybe two just to get gas through system. Ran for about half hour to give it a bit of a break-in. Plugged in a few lights and other items to give each circuit a trial. No problems, ran and powered as expected. Not sure what other review stated about eco sense issue, I had no issue as I used the product outside and away from building approx. 4 feet. No issues on my initial trial run and expect this product to do the same after the next big storm hits our area.

Stable Power

I purchased two Generac portable generators. This one is the GP3600. It has been an excellent unit. We are off grid and use our generators to supply power to our homes. The GP3600 is capable of running a standard household refrigerator, microwave, and ice maker simultaneously as well as miscellaneous electronics like a modem and computers. It also handles power tools like worm drive saws, drill press, wood splitter, etc. I will definitely be purchasing another unit similar to this one.

Poor Quality

I was really surprised at the poor quality of the generator I purchased in the aftermath of Hurricane Helene. The fuel tank leaked fuel. Once I got the tank replaced, the fuel petcock now leaks fuel. Even the replacement one I received leaks fuel. I would not purchase again, nor would I recommend purchase of a generac generator.
