it stop working after 2 months

I’ve been trying to get a set up and still not working. There’s something wrong with the software. And now it’s too late to return it.

Had this printer less than three weeks and it will not feed the paper in. It says there’s a paper jam but it never even starts to pull the paper in.

Purchased this to replace my Epson 1900r. Very impressed with this machine. I expect to save a ton of money buy not having to purchase ink cartridges.

I purchased the Epson ET-8550 MFP to replace two other devices that needed repairs. They were not worth the repair cost. The ET-8550 is versatile. It can scan, copy, print documents and photos. I purchased it primarily for the photo printing capability. The photo print quality has been very good and very acceptable for my needs. I scanned and copied one photo to test. The result was excellent. I will be scanning many photos and documents in the future. I anticipate the performance will meet or exceed my needs.

This printer really lives up to all the hype. Although it’s still relatively new, I’ve printed out some personal artwork on premium glossy photo paper and I can’t tell that it was not done professionally. My only cons about the printer would be, when doing borderless printing the excess ink is absorbed by the ink pads. Once the ink pads are full, the printer needs to be sent back to Epson to install new ones. That will probably cut down 95% of my borderless printing, but with a paper cutter I can trim the edges myself. Also, I have learned from reading other reviews that you want to use the printer as much as possible, because cleaning and aligning the printer heads takes a lot of ink. I love that the printer is wireless, so I can run it from my devices and my computers without a wired connection. I am still trying to get the feel of the Epson printer interface, as well as other features. However, overall I can say this will probably be the best printer I’ve ever owned, and probably the last.

I recently received ET-8550 printer, set up was very easy, and connecting my iMac wirelessly was also easy. Downloading the driver from the Epson website was straightforward and easy. I just printed Christmas cards on thicker paper similar to lightweight card stock and the printer worked flawlessly. The color is great and the printing speed was a lot faster than I expected. Being a brand new printer, I can’t say anything about wear or usage trouble. I am very familiar with Epson commercial large format printers and they were workhorses in the business I retired from. Because of Epson’s reliability and well built construction, it helped me decide to pick the ET-8550 printer for my personal use. I would highly recommend this printer. I hope it provides me many years of reliable service as the commercial large format printer did.

I've had the ET-8550 for two weeks now. I purchased the printer to handle the marketing material for my business, as well as the occasional photo print for myself (I still run an Epson Stylus Pro 3880 for the bulk of my large scale photo printing requirements). Based on the output of everything that I have tried to far, I am very pleased with the quality, speed, and ease of use of the machine. Would certainly recommend this machine.

Print quality is good, but would not expect less from an Epson printer. Scanning is easy, but not intuitive. Handles very thick (1.2mm) paper with ease and the print quality is just as good as on thinner papers. After just a few weeks of regular use, there was a paper misfeed - not a jam, but a misfeed - that damaged the output tray which no longer extends or retracts except for manually. Already have to find someplace to repair it under warranty and who knows how long that will take. Bottom line, value is nowhere near the price.

I have generally spent my life with HP printers, and the last 10 years have been a rough go as their quality has tanked. My point of this printer was NOT to run millions of pages of documents but to be able to print high quality color on various media's beyond copies paper, and also print with Bleed (so all the way to the edge). I've had it now 3 weeks and am in love with this thing. The quality of the unit its-self is stunning and the ink philosophy is not only cost effective, but brilliantly implemented. I have not used it a lot, and with any inkjet printer - time is typically the problem. I'll say that this printer has an outstanding number of moving parts. (Metaphorically and physically), but it wildly exceeds my quality expectations in printing so far. On Premium photo material this generated 5x7 photos that exceed what I had reprinted at a professional photo place. (Mostly because I could do the corrections myself at home). The software that comes with it is 'meh', but I'm an adobe user, so beyond the drivers I don't care - and the drivers work. I did give the photo printing software a run, and it worked and made a stunning photo --- but then crashed the application on a MAC, which I thought was weird. But again. I don't care, I bought it for the printer not the silly amateur software (And anyone buying this grade of printer 'should' be in the same boat). So all in all, a really great value for what it can do. Again, my only concerns are how this will perform over time. Inkjets are notoriously bad with age. I hope Epson proves me wrong with this unit. I will also say - buy this printer for what it's good at. If your looking to run volumes of spreadsheets... This is not your printer. If your looking to print quality media adhoc like a professional print house would... Buy this.
