I'm a little late on the review on this so far this seems like a very good printer I got it for the purposes of making merchandise and I could even print using my phone which means to hook up was very simple I kind of wish it came with direct to film ink instead of it's standard ink in the beginning cuz I had a bike separately but that's the only complaint if any it's a very big printer which will allow me to make blankets and curtains and far more I'm excited to see the results of the products I'm going to be making with this it's a very practical and useful product

I have wanted to buy a large format printer for some time, but the cost of ink cartridges was prohibitive. I was delighted to see that Epson had produced an eco tank version. The cost of ink cartridges is no longer a deterrent with the ET-8550. Additionally, it is compact and fits beautifully in my small space. It was so remarkably easy to set up using the supplied QR code and its easy to read display screen. As for the prints it produces, it's beyond amazing to see their consistently stunning quality. I give it 5 stars and highly recommended the ET-8550!

I just got my new printer set up, which BTW was really easy. Used it for the 1st time to print a couple 13x19 photos, and absolutely love the way they look . I highly recommend this printer to anyone wishing to print larger photos !

I decided NOT to open the box and install the new printer until I return from the Christmas/New Years celebrations. That project needs my undecided care and attention.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I had to dig around in the Epson site to find an alternative printer driver that had more features than the “Lite” version that is the default, but it was there and does exactly what I need.

Easy to set up and use. I'm able to print to it wirelessly and the prints are gorgeous.

I love the wide format for photos. It's more challenging to setup than the ET-8500 - I finally did it on my own. I had to call Epson on the 8550 after trying for a week on my own. The quality and warranty are wonderful features. And, of course, the the ink tanks save a lot of money compared to ink cartridges. The even have special ink for photos that doesn't fade over time. The ultra wide format feature is really designed for a business. Walmart had the best price.

This printer prints amazing. I will say though, and the reason for my 4 star instead of 5 star, is there is a learning curve. Perhaps it is just me. I use an ipad. On my old Epson ET 2800 (i think) I could just send whatever to printer. When i use that technique for this printer the printed page is not formatted properly. The only way i could get the page to look like the picture i was printing was to use the Epson app. So then I had to learn how to use that. And this printer is a little fussy about its paper. I had to learn to change paper settings when I print on different types of paper. With my old printer it didn’t matter. Everything printed the same whether it was photo paper or plain copy paper. Of course the vibrance was different, but the ink going on the paper seemed to be the same. And with this printer you need to do routine maintenance. I did not know that until i ran into printer issues. First, the black ink was smearing. Next the paper kept getting stuck in the printer. There is a menu for maintenance. I am sure all this is online somewhere but who looks for that? It the ‘olden days’ printers and pretty much everything else came with manuals that you could thumb through. Fortunately I have ChatGPT and use it daily so Chat told me how to do the maintenance and now my printer is once again printing beautifully. I do a lot of printing. I had this for probably a month and my ink is already half gone. That is not a complaint. I do a lot of printing. I use the printer for craft projects. You will not be disappointed in the quality of prints you get from this printer but you may get a small headache or frustrated like I did.
